I just had a call come across my called id from
000-000-0000, which I didn't answer. Then comes my message signal. Very unclear, but I think what I got was Jocelyn Brown with Simms Associates calling about a CIT investigation that requires my immediate attention.

Any clues on who this is and what they could be talking about?

Crystal

hmmm sounds suspicious, whenever someone leaves a message using the words investigation I smell a rat..
Crystal, any reason a debt collector would be calling you?

This is a collection agency used by a payday lender called GECC. They turned me over to them but they have been very nice to deal with in my case.

Simm Associates, Inc.
200 Biddle Avenue Suite 200
Newark, DE 19702

This is the info I have found from BBB. Good to know that they are working with your consolidation company 2kid. I also appreciate your knowledge Mishele.

Crystal, according to the feedback on them, it seems you won't be in trouble with them. Keep us updated on how it goes.

Then what could be the purpose of the call? You have paid the loan back to GECC, right? Perhaps they are calling you for some other loan.

Do you have documentation of your payments made to GECC? Keep us posted.

My loan is just consolidated thru T & C - they are making payments to GECC on my behalf. I do have my statements from T&C showing payments made, so they should just be touching base with me.

Mainly I didn't want to call them back if they were Sonc in disguise, because I am tired of talking to them and now will only communicate with them by mail!

Thanks,
Crystal

GECC turned me over pretty quick but I am finding Simms actually easier to deal with. I just sent them a validation letter via certified mail. GECC is try to add 600 dollars onto my account is roll over fees and all this other junk. I have been pretty firm with GECC and let them know I will dispute these items. I have also disputed them with GECC and I am waiting on a response back from them. They are not licensed in my state to loan money. I think they might be licensed in either Nebraska or Delaware. I called them out on it which they didn't like. Of course, they have twisted my words around on me. I have proof of all of my correspondece though.

GECC did the same thing to me,I had a $500 loan from them that I had to keep renewing,When I closed my checking account they had just rolled over the loan but only got 300 from my account. When I called to make payment arrangments,I stated that I should owe $327 from defaulted loan (200 plus 127 fee) and 627 for the new loan, but 2 months later they sent a balance of $2700 to Simms and didnt bother to send them the payments that I had made thru the consolidation company. They told me that they dont roll over, each loan is seperate, and they continued to add $127 in interest to each loan over 16 days.So now $954 turned into $2700.Atlease for now Simms is not adding on any interest.GECC is the worst of all the payloan people that I have dealt with.

SIMM Associates refused payments because I wouldn't give my husbands employer or his work number. They haven't validated the debt and yesterday was the 30th day. Til they validate, no money will be sent to them.
