I had a payday loan with sonic payday that got returned from my bank. They are saying that they need payment in full and and they do not take partial payments, plus they say that they can get the money owed direct from my employer. I would very much like some advice and please give me some info on T&C. It seems they help repay payday loans. thanks

Sonic is very hard to deal with. You can do a search in the forum for them and see other people's experiences with them. You might have signed a voluntary wage assignment with Sonic without realizing it. Many of us have so you are not alone. You can send them a certified letter to revoke the wage assignment. You may also want to contact your payroll department to see if Sonic has tried to get in touch with them.

billelliott1964, I have sent you some info in your PM Inbox. Read the thread given below and understand how you have to present yourself in front of Sonic.

http://forums.debtcc.com/forums/wageassign-legal.html

Your pay roll department might be aware of the activities done by Sonic. If they are aware, they will never send any money of your paycheck to them. If they don't have any experiences, explain your situation and the things that need to be done to restrict Sonic.

If you have given your bank account information to Sonic, it will be wise to inform your bank as well. They will monitor your bank accounts very closely.

Try contacting Sonic after you have taken the preventive steps from your side. Advance them some money along with your proposal plan. Though it might be tough to negotiate with them at the beginning, but if they are still unwilling to work with you, you might have to consider some professional help.

Hi, I had a similar experience with Cash Transfer Centers which is another name that Sonic uses. They will hit your bank account on your next pay for two transactions that add up to what you owe them. Don't send them anything until you see what happens on your next payday. This happened to me last pay.

I was panicked and all set to western-union them the money but when I checked my account, it was empty. I thought they were going to contact my employer and I was really embarassed, then I checked my account online and discovered the two transactions. If I had gotten paid more, I would have double paid them and not even realized it since the debit in my account was from "Northway Debit" but when I called them back they said oh, yes, that's us. I was relieved, but angry that they put me through so much when they were already getting their money back.

Hi Bowen29, Sonic is having the information of your bank accounts. Perhaps, they might try to debit money from your account in the next payday also. In such situation, do monitor your account very closely. These kinds of unauthorized debits will add up further charges. Explain your bank not to allow any such withdrawals to take place. It will be better if your bank can block the ID code which Sonic uses to withdraw money. Once it gets blocked, money can't be taken from your account.

Thank you for that advice John. It would be a disaster for me if they did that again, as I've already gone 6 weeks without any money due to various payday loans coming due, and being unwilling to take out any others. If they debit me again, it will make 8 weeks without money, plus several other bills going unpaid.

Can't you also block their id code? I think I read that somewhere on the forum. Bowen, you want to be careful with Sonic. They will try anything. They tried to hit my closed account several times. When I thought of paying them via western union, they said I could reloan with them after that. I said no thanks and then they asked for my new banking info. I didn't give it to them.

They will try a wage assignment. You need to revoke it asap. Then give a copy to your employer. Sonic thinks they have people trapped by the wage assignment. But wage assignments are prohibited. They are invalid because they have to be signed in person and in front of a witness if I remember right. Digital signature means nothing.
