Getting garnished in a Non garnishment state.

My friend had a credit card back in 1998 and now the credit card is garnished her $25 a week!!!She lives in SouthCarolina which is a Non garnishment state what gives them the right to do so?????Can she take them to court and get her money back and sue them.Plus, she got nothing in the mail just a paper from the payroll office just saying the credit card company is going to her money.She sign nothing.BW

My guess is that this is a wage assignment. High interest rate cc do use them, especially in a non-garn state. She can possibly revoke it, but if she does the company will probably sue her, and her account can be levvied. This is probably the cheapest route for her..It doesn't affect her credit, either.
