I am concerned how my debt consodidation will affect my husbands credit. The debt that I have is only mine, but our house is in both of our names. Will his credit be affected by my going into debt consolidation?

Hi Nancy!!! So nice to see you here. Okay, just so I'm clear on this, are you only consolidating YOUR debts? If so, no it won't affect your husbands credit in any way. I just received a judgement on my credit report and it doesn't affect my husbands credit at all since its in my name only. Now if we were joint, it would be different. Also, just so you know, being on a debt consolidation program isn't a bad thing. It can actually improve your credit score.
But you can relax, it will not affect your husbands credit. Hope I have helped ease your worries here. Shirley :D

Nancy, like everyone has their own individual credit file, the consolidation program that you will take will not be reflected in your husband's credit unless you have signed the loan jointly.

You are choosing the right option for repairing your financial problems. debt consolidation will make your way easier by ensuring regular payments towards your creditors. Once the accounts have been paid in full, your credit report will give a positive view to your future lenders. This program only stays as long as you are using it. Unlike other programs, this won't stay for a long period.
