Hey everyone I am in a delimma, as you know I graduated nursing school. Now comes the hard part, I have to pay the cost of taking the boards which is VERY expensive. To make matters worse, just as I am nearing the end of my Chpt. 13, the trustee claims he lost my payment and is threatening dismissal if I don't have it by the end of June, NOT A GOOD THING! So I will have to use the money I saved for my exam ($350) to pay this to avoid dismissal. In the mean time I will be having to prove my payment was sent, (I send MOs and I can NOT find the d@mn receipt) To make matters worse there is a deadline to take the boards. Things are tight enough as it is, and please, don't get angry, but I am seeing that my only alternative is to turn to a payday loans in order to pay for my boards. I know that sounds crazy but I don't know what else to do. I wish we were told how expensive this was going to be, maybe that is my fault, I should've been more assertive with my questions. I would've used my tax returns but I had to use all of that to replace my car which broke down. I swear, IT IS ALWAYS SOMETHING. You try to get ahead, and when you think you are there, life puts up another road block.

I have spent the last 3 years sacrificing so much, I thought I was doing well, and preparing a better future me and my kids and it seems now that is all for nothing and I will lose that. I swear, I have been in tears ALL day after my attorney contacted me. I am completely devastated here. It seems life really kicks you hard just when you think good things are right around the corner.

Thanks for letting me vent. I really haven't been myself at all today.

While I am waiting for a few calls back on - say a quick pray to St. Anthony. He finds every thing. I like Tony, Tony look around something sprecial can't be found. Did you check your notebooks and books from school? and your glove compartment. Also I know that you live in Ohio, but where? That will help when my contacts get back to me.

I'm near Columbus. Trust me, I have checked everywhere. I'm hoping it jumps up and bites me. 2 weeks ago I was late for work because I could not find my keys for anything! Spent almost 2 hours looking for them. And I looked down at the front pocket of my purse, (which I SWEAR I looked in 3 times) and there were my car keys! I don't know if I can get that lucky again. But I am hoping! I really do appreciate your help!

I always thought that you could get hired on as a GN until you passed your boards, with a time limit given to you of course. But when I checked the board of nursing's website, it said that you can not get a permit to do this, only if you are already licensed in another state and coming to Ohio.

Also, I think I remember a clinical instructor saying that you hold the title of CNA until you pass your boards. But I am having no luck with finding such facilities. I do have a job offer, but can not start until I take the NCLEX. Which right at this point looks like it isn't going to happen anytime soon, which sucks, it is a really decent paying position.

One of my contacts told me to tell you to try the nursing homes in the area and also the visiting nurse association. The VNA hire for home health care and you could do it on a prn basis. Another suggestion was to call the nearest hospital and check if the psych unit needs a sitter. Up here in Cleveland you can make as much as $20.00 an hour just sitting with a patient. And my contact said to call the local hospital - the nursing board website is going by the book - the hospitals are desperate for people who are willing to work and many will hire cna's.

This is too funny! I just had to share this with my tardy ho sisters this morning. Hubby and I got up early this morning so I decided to take him out to breakfast for Father's Day. I asked where he wanted to go and he actually said the truck stop!! LOL! So that's where we had breakfast this morning and the food is actually good. They didn't recognize me without all of my costumers though

Uggggggggggggg! NO! :( I'm gonna send in an extra payment, it will be TOUGH, but it is too far into this 13 and sooooooooo close to discharge, I just keep praying that something good will happen. It seems when we get through one storm, we get just enough time to rest to prepare for the next one around the corner, because there is always another one waiting.

No Goudah, I didn't. I last had nearly 10500 points, majority were donated to me. When I logged a few minutes ago it was dropped to 7700, now at about 7900 from what I've just posted. That is why I said I was missing 2700 points because this morning it was nearly 10500 points and like I said when I logged back on it was 7700 exactly. Don't know what happened. I really appreciate the points being donated, I really do, it upsets me that people donated and now points are missing. And alot of points at that.

Try the money order company..
As a nurse I know how it expensive it can be to get going but as a single mom having to raise three alone with financial help..there is a silver lining..believe me..been there..chap 13 and all.good luck and you're in my prayers..

Steelers,

Check with local hospitals. The Nursing Board sucks, they go by the book only. I work in a hospital in HR and we will hire you in as a PCT (CNA), once you sit for the NCLEX and pass, we will reimburse you for the testing fees. Make some calls and see if anyone around you does that.
