I'm glad you had second thoughts Spanky. As long as we remember that we are all here for the same purpose-to get and give help, we will be ok. It's only when we start turning on each other and forget the purpose, we are in trouble-and the site becomes diluted from it's purpose.

I am proud of this forum-you can see so many posts of people getting help and relief. We don't have to resort to talking about others-other sites, etc. to prove how strong we are- the numbers and the testimonies show it--Peace to all..Karen :rose: :rose:

I am glad that we were able to convice you to stay. You have the ability to help others in need. And just like everything in life no-one is perfect and we all make mistakes but we learn from them and that makes us a better person overall. So don't be too hard on yourself. Glad to see you are back.

No one knew a thing about Prozac etc. back then--people who couldn't deal with society because of un-treatable depression were simply sent away and experimented upon until they could cope or were left behind if they couldn't cope -and that's just a fact of American life before the advances in psychiatric medicine--started dealing with chronic depression--not cruel at all--just a product of what was available in meds at the time--I didn't think I was being too hard on myself except for the fact that everyone got so defensive when the monetary value was mentioned--I don't feel I have anything else to offer to this sight with posts because my incident with debt collection was very isolated and I didn't owe what company was tying to collect--even though I will not be posting much in future---I still thank you all--and wish you the best!!Go forth and conquer --vini-vidi-vicci!!:D :D :D :D

I understand the part of expermenting for future Hanky but shock therapy! WOW! I remember seeing it on tv as a child and it has stayed with me all these years! All i could think about was my poor old uncle and this is what they did to him, now he's a zoombie! :(
I'm sorry we all got so defensive over the monetary issue but it stems from past events and post about this same issue. (for me anyway)
Also, it's all your choice whether to stay and post but even though ur situation was different than most, we DO indeed get people here lots of time that are going thru the same thing which u could lend help too!
GOod luck in whatever u choose to do but i'd like u to stay with us!

hey ang--my grandma actually survived the shock therapies performed on her at Camarillo CA state hospital--(my mom was shipped off to relatives in Oregon when all this was going on)--grams was not a zombie when she returned to us--and I thank God for that--my grandma taught me how to sew /bake/told stories about the good old days etc.--I had so many happy and rewarding times with her--she was a survivor--and years later when I had psychology classes at college-- I related story to others -ANG--are you sure your uncle didn't have lobotomy? Anyways thanks for being so nice even after I jumped the gun and asked what was really going on here ! I will still be on sight and am only here to offer support!! thanks again for being so supportive!!!!! This is the thing I think that is the magnet for people who keep returning to this sight!!! :D :D :D

Ahh Hanky now that u say it he did also have lobotomy!! Ya know the more i think of it, I saw on tv years ago, shock therapy and it really stayed with me all these years. I'm glad to hear u had good loving times with grams! :D

Well I never read this blog but here is my two cents.
The pay for posting is very little and the workload to help keep the site running smoothly is very high.Most of our members here are here to get help or share their experience with newer members to help out. The person referred to that we donated our points to is a very good friend of mine and let's just say their finances were only a very small contribution to their situation so we banded together to help this member out.

Even though are donations may be small it means alot to that person that is dire need of them and truly appreciate it.
