I'm dealing with PDLs that are all store front loans. How did you handle your situation? Did you ask for T&C's assistance? If so, were they able to help you? Will I be able to get debt consolidation with my situation, or am I at the mercy of the lenders themselves, and if that's the case, how difficult was it for you to work out a reasonable payment plan with the lenders? Were you threatened with criminal and civil action? Did they try to send the checks through to your bank account despite having a freeze or stop payments on your account? How did you end up resoloving your matter? Please, details regarding how to resolve my situation, and what to expect would be greatly appreciated. I really haven't a clue what I'm facing in the coming days, and I'm beginning to panic again. I'm sorry!

Hi DeeDeeNay

Chill! It happens with everyone for the first time when you are trying to fix your credit and the lenders are hounding at your back. They want to get their money and you are trying to return it back. It does not matter if you do that on your own or hire a consolidation company for this purpose.

YAY! Jail threats are the common tactics used to get the money faster. The main intention is to build in that fear so that get head over heels and pay it off. Stay comfortable, don't panic. Call your consolidation company on Monday morning and you will find things with a different prospective.

Spend your weekend nicely instead of being tensed :)

Oh, no. I'm getting the feeling that my situation is a "special case" - that not many people have gotten themselves into the kind of trouble I'm in. I'm realizing now that the online PDLs are what most everyone here has suffered through. My problem is unique, and probably more serious than the online PDLs. I'm really not sure what to do now because there really doesn't seem to be anyone here that's gone through what I'm going through now. I would love to know what to expect from my unique situation, but that may not be possible. I'm really worried about my situation, and not sure if I'm going to be able to get any help from any debt consolidation company regarding my situation. I wish that my PDLs were online ones so that I'd know exactly what I would be facing and dealing with. But, unfortunately, they're not; they're all checks, totaling a very HUGE amount. Oh, Lord, what is going to happen to me?

Thanks, everyone, for the support and advice you have given me. Hopefully, with God's help, and with the advice you've all armed me with, I'll come through this situation, and survive whatever happens to me. I'll keep you all posted about what happens. I'm sure I'll have some more questions to ask. Thanks!

DeeDeeNay,
I only had storefront PDL's. Not one online PDL. I had 7 PDL's to deal with. One of the PDL's was able to cash the check even though I put a stop payment on it. This company was one that T&C said they have worked with frequently. All the other PDL companies have signed the proposals sent to them except for one that would not deal with T&C at all but was willing to set up arrangements with me. Unfortunately for me they sent my check to the bank and somehow it got cashed (see the thread re:stop payments/freezing accounts for the whole story on that). I live in Washington state.I know T&C is not able to help in some states but I don't know which ones. They have been extremely helpful to me and even with my bank issues I feel alot better knowing they are working for me on this. Also most of my loan amounts were $700 each. If you havn't talked with T&C yet I would definitly make the call and see what they can do for you. They told me they work with numerous store front lenders as well as the online ones. You'll be ok. Just remember to leave it in God's hands. Trust me when I say its easier to say that then do sometimes.

dee dee nay, storefronts are generally a bit easier to deal with especially if you live in a state that requires them to be licensed. About 3 years ago I was into mainly storefront lenders for about 5 grand.. it took some work and a few headaches but got em all paid off... Celtic lass is rightm it will work out and we all are ready and willing to helop guide you.
