Can allied garnish my wages?


Was this a Federally backed student loan or was it from a private lender? If this was federally backed, then yes, they can have your wages garnished and would not need to go to court to do it. If privately funded, they would first need to obtain a judgement against you and then attempt to garnish. What state do you live in?

k, thank you. I would need to write a letter to them explaining my financial situation and make other payment arrangement with them..

Allied collects for the US Department of Education plus several FFELP guarantors so yes, they can do administrative wage garnishment in all 50 states.

Do not write to them....call. If they are threatening garnishment, it is extrememly time sensitive and they will not negotiate in writing.
