I couldn't pay off my student loan debt before leaving US. This was 4 years back. Now, I am planning to get back to US. Will I be arrested for the debt?
Yes, your lender can sue you
and get you arrested. Work with a lawyer as soon as you set foot in here
to avoid any such untowardly event from happening.
Paul
you are a friggin idiot. You cannot be arrested in a CIVIL LAWSUIT.
You can be arrestted for contempt of court. Federal loans rarely sue.
Private loans do sue but being arrested is not something to be concerned
about or even wasting money on an attorney for. Before you answer
questions I would suggest you learn law 101 because you are going to
cost people money.
