why so many loan listings?

On my credit report I have 10 or more entries for the college loan companies. I thought I had consolidated my loans? Only 2 of them have balances by them. What should I do to clean this up? Is there a way to only have one listing? I'm not sure why / how there is so many anyhow. thanks. :)

Each dispursement is a seperate loan and as such they report sep
Each dispursement is a seperate loan and as such they report seperately. When you consolidate, you basically take out a new loan. However the old tradelines remain until they age off. As long as they are reporting accurately, there is nothing you can do about them.
