Garnishment

I have just notice that the student loan are garnishing my check i sent something in writing to set up a repayment plan and they are stating its to late i even spoke to a rep and she told me exactly what to do now they are garnishing my check which is putting me in a finanical hardshipee and i called them yesterday he stated that they want me to pay additonal 120 can they take my return check in jan .. And how can i stop it thanks in advance

You would have been sent a pre garnishment notice which you could objected to the garnishment. That was the time to call. You can answer it now but it will take time to process you as they will process those who are appealing on a timely basis. They will look at your basic bills,,,rent/mortgage, utilites, food, clothing, car paymen/gas/maintainance, insurance, daycare, They will not take into account credit card payments or other loans.
