student loan debt

I called GC services today concerning student loan rehabilitation. I was niave in the whole process. I gave all my information freely thinking that this was going to be resolved. In the beginning they let me know that I had the option of a deferral for one year and I said no I would rather start making payments. In the end I was not able to afford the payments offered
and with the information I had given they already knew this. I was given one hour to figure it out and call back. One hour was not anough time so now they have documented that I did not want to participate in the program which is not true.I am shocked that the government uses this service to work out student loan difficulties. I have contacted all the government agencies in hopes that someone will help me get my loan problems resolved and still be able to live. Is GC really the Government

If your loan is in default, there is no option of deferral for o
If your loan is in default, there is no option of deferral for one year.....you can apply for deferment after your loan has been rehabbed but not until the loan is out of default.
How much do you owe?? How much were the payments they requested?
