Wage Garnishment. Collectors won't negotiate anymore.

I was informed by my employer that a CA was about to garnish my wages. I then called the CA and negotiated a payment plan. They have my checking account info and had within a sum to start off with. I assumed this was going to continue every month.

Then I was called this morning from the same collector. They are starting up the garnishment again. They had said that I did not return a form that they had emailed me. I triple checked my email and not found no such form. Not in the inbox, deleted box, or the junk mailbox. It just wasn't there.

I called back and they are now unwilling to work with me on payment plan.

I'm expecting my wage to be garnished soon.

I can't afford the garnishment. I can barely afford the $150/month that we had agreed upon in the first place.

The garnishment is going to be at $275/month I believe. If this is true, I'll be homeless along with my mom and sisters by the end of the year.

Please advise.

If your employer got the garnishment notice, you were sent and failed to return the 30 day appeal garnishment notice. Technically once your employer received the notice, the garnishment should have started.

Garnishment is 15% of your disposable pay....your gross minus taxes, fica and mandatory deductions including heath insurance.,

Thx for the advice. Gave the supervisor/manager a call. Out for ThanksGiving. Hopefully this can be resolved when he comes back.

My brain is just flying everywhere with what-ifs.

Mostly, what if they won't settle on the original payment plan?

Oh yeah. Happy Thanks Giving SoapLady.
