If your employer got the garnishment notice, you were sent and failed to return the 30 day appeal garnishment notice. Technically once your employer received the notice, the garnishment should have started.
Garnishment is 15% of your disposable pay....your gross minus taxes, fica and mandatory deductions including heath insurance.,

The payment delayed the garnishment and went to your account. You should have stayed on top of it making sure that payments happened every 30 days.
Maybe try calling back and talking with a supervisor or manager,.
