Congrats on the PIF's. Isn't it a great feeling? I am curious to know if you enlisted the help of the processors at all. I am finding it interesting that suddenly some of the PDLs are wiping the slate clean. I know that Intercept has received many calls and I am assuming that since UCL is all part of the bigger picture they too use them as their processors. Wouldn't it be great if they were finally deciding to do the right thing? Even if they had a little push!

Actually i'm a little surprised because all I did was type up a letter for each lender stating the laws of CA, not to call me, no ACH's and the amount that I borrowed and the amount that I have paid so far. SUEBEEHONEY drafted the letter and I put some personal touches on it. I went to WAMU yesterday and explained the situation to the Branch Manager and closed my account. She did get their processor on the line just to make sure there was nothing already scheduled to hit my account before midnight because then it would re-open it. I emailed the letters to the PDL's and the PIF's are rolling in.

This is such a relief and I am so happy that I am taking responsibility for my actions, finally.

bmblbe69 -

I'm SO happy for you! You are a PERFECT EXAMPLE of what can happen when someone with PDL problems takes the initiative to first ask for help, and then follow through with the actions required to solve the problem!

This is exactly why this site exists - to help people deal with this sort of situation. I hope you will stick around to help others in the future with what you have learned here.

PLEASE NOTE: To anyone considering using a letter similar to the one bmblbe69 used - do not attempt to do so without consulting one of the Moderators or members well-versed in PDL issues here first. The letter must be worded carefully, and you want to avoid making threats. The letter only works for ILLEGAL PDL companies in a situation where you have overpaid them according to your state law - to use this letter with a licensed, legal PDL company would be asking for major trouble.
