Speaking of Advance America...Didn't I read that they are with the CFSA now? I have a co-worker who confided in me about her pdls, and AA is one of them. Before I say anything, I just want to make sure I understand correctly...If a pdl is a member of CFSA, aren't they required to make payment arrangements with you if you are not able to pay the loan in full? Something about them splitting it into 4 parts and not charging additional interest...does anyone know about this?

Eleroo, I pulled out what I printed that goudah posted. Yes, Advance America is on there. And the way it works is that, yes, they split your payments. You may pay the transaction balance in four equal payments coinciding with your periodic pay dates. However, the first sentence of this statement by the CFSA states: "Subject to applicable state laws..." We found one member who tried to use the CFSA; however, this members state did not have it in place. So I am assuming some states do not have the CFSA in place.

Hi Cannr. Thanks for making it a little more clear. I will do some research and see if our state has the CFSA in place. Hopefully so. I would love to help her get out from under it. I know that the 4 equal payments will be more than she normally pays, but to be done with them in 2 months and be free and clear...it would be so worth it, I would think. :-)

I agree, eleroo. It took me by surprise when that member posted that her stat didn't have it in place. I'm wondering if mine does now. Just out of curiousity. I don't recall seeing a list of states on the site. However, I was just concentrating on the list of members. Never even thought to see if it was in place in every state.

eleroo, just found out my state does have the CSFA in place and spoke with someone regarding it. In my state, you are able to invoke the EPP, make sure you go in at least one day prior to the due date, fill out the form for EPP, and pay 4 equal payments until it is paid off. I was told that we are able to do this only once every 12 months per storefront. Just FYI in case you want to tell your friend. :D
