Hello all,

It's been a while. I came here looking for advice on my credit dilema I found myself in a little over a year ago. I recieved a lot of great advice here and finally won my battle and got the tax lien removed from my credit reports. I just wanted to say thanks to all who helped me out and I will try to make it around more often to continue to try to help others as I have been helped in the past.

:D

Congratulations!!! :D :D :D
I love success stories!

When you get these tax liens off your credit, does your credit rating go up or stay the same?

ANY judgement or lien is affecting your scores ... one can affect you between 50-80 points. But if you have a bunch of them, they don't EACH affect you that much. Is the tax lien the only "derogatory" on your reports?

It is my Spouses from years ago. He was finally able to pay the thing off through payment plan. We recieved a letter stating they released the tax lien in his old county of residence. Unfortunatley, it was not the only bad thing. He has some really old debts that should be off his report soon.

as they drop off you will see the score improving. You are only buying the scores through MyFico dot com, right? If you are buying them through Experian, Equifax or Transunion directly, it is NOT a "real" FICO! Go to the source and buy the real thing from myfico!

Are you saying you got a tax lien removed before the 7 years was up? How did you do that, may I ask? I have one I'd love to get off. Thanks.

have you paid the tax lien in full, plus any penalties?

Paid it off completly! Of course they (IRS) would take his return and apply it to the owed tax. He was also paying 100/week since 2007(?). That included all penaties and interest. I am just glad it is over!

I just wrote a letter, saying it was paid in full, that it was my ex husbands and not my debt, and it was removed. Way easier than I thought it would be!
