Superior Debt Services - Has anyone dealt with this company?

Superior Debt Services
We just signed up with Superior Debt Services today.... I have soooo much anxiety. I hope they are successful in settling our accounts. We have over $150k in debt due to injury. Are they successful in dealing with BOA and MBNA? Please please respond if you have any information.
re superior debt
Did anyone that has joined superior debt have accounts with bank of america, mbna, or citi card. I have heard that these will sue you and are hard to deal with
Superior Debt Services
I can't find an answer to the post about whether the Superior Debt Services company is the real deal. I got a call from the Las Vegas office - not the Colorado one. Also if anyone can recommend any other companies they have dealt with successfully with a good rating and a member of the BBB and other organizations? Thanks!
re: Superior Debt Services
They have performed satisfactorilly to this date for me. I signed up in 2006 after my fiasco with the Stantons of Risk Management Partners, Ltd. Since we had to start over after 4 years of payments to the aformentioned theives, I was hesitant to say the least. I have 8 accounts remaining and now only have three left to go. The only problem was not their fault and the handled it very expeditiously and were able to pull off a miracle settlement even after I lost a lawsuit. I did have to report one settlement but the taxes I had to pay on it was still less than the interest I would had to pay on the amount.
re: Yes, they are a good company.
Yes, they are a good company. With the economy the way it is, no one can afford to be in debt. If you need help, get help. I appreciate the good habits I have developed over the last six years. We don't but anything unless we need it, we budget better, and we save some(not enough, but improving a little bit at time. SDS seems to be a good assistant in acheiving these goals. They respond quickly and seem to be so compasionant in there handling of their custormers. My rep talked me through the tough situation(even though the lawsuit did not happen on their watch)they still went to bat for me. That's something I will not forget. They were even suprised they were able to get the settlement that they did.

Thanks so much Gonterman for the info, I feel much more comfortable now after reading your story. The man I spoke to over the phone was very nice and helpful, I had lots of questions and he answered every one - and was honest that this is not easy but can be done. I hope that I will get a great settlement on my debts too. Have been trying to crawl out of cc debt for years and we've sold, stretched and done everything we can do and it's still not enough - we need relief. Thanks again....
Nervous
Superiordebtrelief.com contacted me after I registered to this site, which set off a red flag. but now I see they MAY be trustworthy, but I am nervous.
How can one find complaints against the company at the BBB? I looked them up and they have a satisfactory rating, but I see no way to actually look up complaints against them. Perhaps I am looking in the wrong place?
What scares me is I have never missed a payment, but to get this going must now stop paying the credit cards to get this going with them. What if they fail to make a settlement? I am really really scared, but I am 25K in debt and now at the point where we can either pay the minimum monthlies or eat. Not both. We've been muching on bread, rice and noodles the last few months. :(
My creditors are CHASE (15k), Discovery (7.5k) and Citizens (5.5k).
Superior
Well we went ahead and signed up and are praying for good results. They seem like a good company - very friendly and our rep is very good with answering all my questions. Got the welcome packet and it is very thorough. This is the first month we're late and Discover is calling up to 5 times a day - but they gave me the info to tell them when they call - and don't talk to them if you can help it. Thank goodness we have caller ID. I wish you well Matt and hope that you can get some relief - I know how it is - the stress is terrible. I feel better knowing we have a plan now. I don't know how you can look up specific complaints on a business - what I saw was a list of how many complaints and how they were resolved - other than that I don't know what you could find out. But I was happy that this company was a member of the BBB with a satisfactory rating. We just cut up all our credit cards last nite.

It doesn`t surpise me about Discover calling you. Them and Bank of America are the worlds worst credit card company when it comes to harrassing poeple. They talk a tough game but they will settle. Hang in there it will get better and in my opinion you made a good decision going with Superior Debt Services. They have an excellent track record and if you stick with the program ,listen to SDS and keep an open line of commications with SDS you will get the best results. I truly wish you the best of luck with your situation .

I don't have Mike, I have Priscilla, but I started in Feb. and they are already close to paying off one of my (smaller) debts. Someone is always available, will always spend time answering questions, and I have felt from the beginning that they know what they are doing and how to deal with collectors. I worry about everything, all the time, and they really have put me at ease about going through a settlement.
SDS
Literally today, I got a full refund after working with SDS for the past 17 months. In 17 months, they settled 0/3 accounts. One was less than $1000. In addition, I was also sued in small claims court and the order was granted. I asked SDS several times in the preceding months if there was a law suit out there, and if they had spoken to the lawyer from whom I received paperwork. I had faxed them several times documentation from the law firm that was representing my creditor. The customer service rep I worked with told me she couldn't find any record of a current or past suit, and their own lawyer couldn't find anything either. She even said they couldn't find the judge who the hearing was scheduled with. Once I realized how incompetent they were, I finally checked myself and it took me less than 5 minutes to find the case. I just wish I had done this before, but I had been reassured several times that I was ok and that it was just a scare tactic.
I also switched customer service reps earlier this spring when my old one managed to lose a fax I sent him with a new bank account to draft money out of. He didn't change the account info even though I asked him to and spoke to him about it, and my old account (which was all but closed) was overdrawn because of it. They had to write me a check and mail it to me to pay me for the fees I incurred. A funny thing that happened along with this is when I got the check, I also got a note to pick up a certified letter/check. It was addressed to a man, but with my address. Another check to a client for some reason was sent to the wrong person! Obviously, I couldn't pick it up and didn't because it was certified and I was not the recipient, but it just shows you how incompetent they are.
I tried to give SDS several chances to fix things. I switched reps, spoke to managers, and more, but despite all this, absolutely NOTHING was accomplished with my $10,000 in debt and now it is much greater because of their neglect. I would not recommend working with them, although I'm sure some people have had good experiences, I would hate for anyone to run into the same situation I did.
current SDS results from previous posts
Hello!
Great info on this site.
Was hoping that some of the earlier posters on this thread could give me (us) their current satisfaction levels with their SDS program.
I received the application and am just a tad hesitant being that I have never missed a payment before. Another lingering question...what if a CC decides NOT to take the amount offered, do I just continue to pay it monthly? After paying the late fees, of course! :(
Thanks so much!
Superior Debt Solutions' BBB Accreditation
Looks like they just recently lost their accreditation, though. That can't be good. Can it...??

Last Answer Before BANKRUPTCY
I urge you all not to sign up with this awful company unless your only alternative is Bankruptcy. I joined them 2and a half years ago wanting to minimize my debt. I was making more than minimum payments on a 20k debt after I put my car on a card. I had excellent credit and a revolving line of 35k in credit and all this I explained. They claim to settle most accounts at 50% or less and they calculate your current debt, take half off, and give you an estimated saving of say $11k ( what they did for me)
Now after over two years I go to them and complain and they say that all figures are estimates and the savings of what they estimate to be 50% is on the current balance. So my Chase account which was $10,250 two and a half years later is now $16,750 and they are looking to settle at 8,000. Please don't let me do the math for you. There are other companies who operate in a more legitimate fashion, and I will find them out and post this. That is also when this guy explained to me that this company is a last resort before bankruptcy, and if you are not facing that or able to make payments, then you are not a candidate ( and will most likely be irritated at the results as I am) This program has destroyed my credit, limited my employment opportunities ( A credit check is preformed with large companies as if you can't manage money you are at risk of stealing from the company) And the worst part, your balances are now up 60% from when you joined the company. A year after I fulfilled my obligation as to what money I owe, I am getting court hearings in the mail and they are asking me for $5000 more to settle this account. Yet, I still have another account outstanding that was 10,000, but now probably $15,000 with no remaining funds in the account. I live in New York, so I can't get a job, I can't rent an apartment, and the cards not listed with Superior, say my Amex for emergencies , was taken away when they found out about my delinquent accounts.
I swear on my life that all this has happened and I will do everything in my power to do legal proceeding to get my money back and either set these people straight if not out of business. I just checked the BBB website and all it shows is 17 complaints in the last 36 months and it not being an accredited company on BBB because it's account is expired. (If you didn't know, companies pay money to be a member of BBB, and just as easily they buy membership, they can also pay off complaints sort of say)
Beware and be careful, in a real world a credit company like Chase or Citibank that you decide not to pay for a few years, once all is said and done will never issue you a line of credit in the near or distant future. Even after credit restoration.
Again Superior Debt Services is only a good deal when bankruptcy is the only other option. If you don't believe me, ask them to put it in writing, I bet they won't.
With Deep Regret

Yes, you will get a 1099 from the credit card company for the amount of the forgiven debt, which will have to be filed with your taxes and you will be taxed on it as income, unless you are insolvent (which many settlement clients are). Best to talk to an accountant to see what particular deductions, etc. you'd be able to make.
SDS - two thumbs DOWN
My experience with Superior Debt has been a negative one. They are always asking me to send them extra money in addition to the nearly $400/mo I already pay. Now that my time is almost up, they have informed me that they need me to send them yet more $$, that the settlement amount they quoted me to get my business was "just an estimate." They can't seem to stick to their agreement, but they made sure they took their cut up front.
Tammy Serata please stop paying them. Ask for your money back.

I've been with Superior for about a year now, and they have settled three accounts at 30%, 30% and 20%. I am hoping for a fourth, small one to be settled before the end of the year. They have never asked for more money. In fact, when I settled one creditor on my own outside of the program because my funds at the time were committed to settling another account, the amount of that account and their fee for it were removed from the program and my payment schedule was re-figured to reflect that, knocking off a couple of hundred dollars a month from my payments! They are constantly in touch with me via email, to keep me updated on the negotiations. There is always someone available to talk to when I call. Chase and Bank of America were the first ones settled.
Yes, this is a last resort before bankruptcy. That is a well-known fact. Anyone joining a settlement program should do extensive research before joining. But if you cannot pay your bills any longer, your credit will suffer anyway. Even if you are paying your bills, your debt-to-income ratio will eventually cause your credit score to slide if you max out your cards. And if that happens, other creditors will close your accounts or lower limits anyway, whether you are in a debt settlement program or not. Your creditors are monitoring your credit reports constantly, and adjust their rates, limits, etc. based on what is happening with other accounts. I knew all this beforehand. I knew the risks, and the reps I talked to before I joined were very explicit in pointing out the pitfalls. debt settlements are not a quick fix, nor are they for the faint-hearted. They ARE a last resort before bankruptcy and sometimes hard to get through. Some creditors are stubborn and don't want to settle. You may receive a summons or two anyway. But I feel that Superior has done a great job for me and I am very happy with the results so far. I guess I just asked all the right questions in the beginning, because any sticky spots I have come up against were no great surprise.

hi all, new around here, is any one still involved with Superior debt? with love an up date as I negotiate these shark infested waters. Thanks
Superior Debt Services
I agree with the previous post. I am with Superior Debt Services, and it is 1 step forward, 2 steps back. They take away $357 a month for their "retainer fee" from the $636 they already deduct a month---and they have settled only 4 accounts in the PAST 2 YEARS! I also was served a summons by 2 creditors, and they say, "That happens." I would like to get out of this arrangement as I can use the extra $636 a month and perhaps settle these on my own, since they are charged off anyway. In retrospect, I shouldn't have let my accounts go to collections as SDS advised me to, and tried to make arrangements by myself. They take out over 50% a month for their fees, yet I still do not have enough to settle an account. I feel they are taking money from underneath me, and not duly settling my account. It seemed like a great way to consolidate my accounts in the beginning, then after 2 years of them deducting $636 a month, and NO SETTLEMENT, I feel like the fool here.
Guest above, in your first few sentences, you said they settled
Guest above, in your first few sentences, you said they settled four accounts. Then in your last sentence, you say you have not settled any. WTH??? Depending on the amounts of your accounts, four in two years might be great!! Also, you said you thought it was a great way to consolidate your accounts. THIS IS A SETTLEMENT COMPANY, not a consolidation company. Your contradictions make me think you are either just putting up random posts for negative effect, or else you weren't sure what you were doing in the first place.
When you do the proper research, you find that lawsuits are a danger of any settlement program, whether you are in a program OR do it yourself. Some creditors will simply not wait for two years. I have had THREE lawsuits now, and was lucky enough to be able to settle one outside of the program, and Superior settled the other two for me before the court date so the suits were dismissed. That's what they are there for, to negotiate on your behalf. If you were in contact with Superior you would have known this, and could've made settlements on your own in addition to being in the program. They then would've removed that account, and the proportionate fees for it, from the program to allow for it.
Also, no creditor will consider a settlement, UNLESS you are in collections. Letting an account get into the collection process is the only way to start the settlement process, even if you are doing it on your own without a company.
It is a constant amazement to me, that people that join settlement programs just don't seem to know how they work. If you have LOTS of accounts, OF COURSE you can't settle them all at once, and fees etc. will accrue onto the ones that are left for awhile. This happens when you settle on your own, as well. If you have the money to settle multiple accounts all at the same time, perhaps tens and tens of thousands of dollars, you ought to have enough to pay your bills in the first place. Settlement programs aren't for people that have decided they just don't want to pay their bills any longer; they were originally designed for people that are having true hardships and are a last resort, or alternative for those who can't file, for bankruptcy. Your creditors can tell, by your spending habits and what kind of purchases you have made, whether you are having true hardships or you are just an irresponsible consumer. They also know, from other accounts you may keep in good standing, like mortgages and other credit cards, if you are really out of employment, or disabled and have no income, or just picking and choosing what you will and won't pay. Like with anything, the system is being abused and creditors are on to this. (Not that their hiking of interest rates etc. isn't abuse also. I'm not totally defending the creditors here.) But that is one of the reasons that settlements are getting harder, in some cases.
I have now been with Superior for a year and three months. Six of my nine accounts have been settled, and there has been some hard work / tough negotiation involved. I have three accounts left, with some ornery, stubborn creditors and I don't know where that will lead. Maybe it won't be good. But I feel I have a great chance, anyway, because I know how the process works and Superior has done everything they have said they would. Debt settlement is a crapshoot at best, and I feel they have made my odds much, much better than without, at least in my particular situtation.

i like susies post, although i did not use this particular company, settlement is something that needs to be considered fully. and researched properly it is not easy. but it does work well but its far from a quick easy fix. some will go easy, some will be a royal pain in the butt and wont budge at all. But be sure that you know the facts about settlement what they can and cant do, what can happen and what will happen. too many are signing up lately for settlement and are unaware of how it works then are angry that they feel they have been scammed when in fact, the company did what its suppost to do.
know the facts about settlement before signing the dotted line. Im a big advocate of settlement, but it is far from being pleasant

I have been with SDS for about two years. I did considerable research before I signed up with a debt settlement company. SDS was the top on all my research. I have not been dissapointed. I find them to be very professional and understanding. I have just 4 accounts to go until I am debt free. I am able to keep my business and I am still able to provide for my son as a single dad. But, don't take my word for it. Do the research yourself. And, be prepared to make siginificant lifestyle changes. Getting yourself out of debt is not a simple or easy task despite what you may hear. It takes dedication and work. Keep focused on you goal and you will succeed.
Good luck! Enjoy getting your life back!!

I am just about complete with Superior. The settlements are complete and now we'll if their promise to restore credit holds true. I thing you should know is they cannot settle with every creditor. I had to settle my Advanta account on my own, which was frustrating to say the least. Another thing you should be aware of is when estimate the settlement it is a percentage of the current balance. What they do not clearly explain is as you making payment to Superior, interest is accumulating on your accounts and when it come to settling, the percent is actually on the original balance and interest that has accumulated. In other words, if your debt is high enough, you may end up paying the entire amount of the original balance because of the high interest. When asked about it they state they cannot guarantee settlement amounts.
My husband and I have been with Superior Debt for 14 months now
My husband and I have been with Superior Debt for 14 months now and yes they are great to deal with but I don't think I was fully aware of how hard it was going to be when I signed up. I never realized how persistent the bill collectors can be. Because I'm not answering my home phone they call me at work, they have called the owners of the company I work for and my family members. This has proven to be very humiliating! I'm not sure who said it but Debt Solutions does not stop any phone calls nor do they take any phone calls unless you have enough money in your account to settle a debt. The other matter I neglected to think of was the fact that the longer it takes you to settle your debt interest and penalties are accruing each month increasing the amount of debt you owe. Remember, when you look at the estimated payment schedule it is only an estimate. They agree to settle your accounts for 40 percent of the debt but by the time you are able to settle your debt your balance could have doubled. I still think we made the right choice for us in choosing Debt Solutions but I think before anyone sighs up they should know what they are in for.

I would like to start off by saying that I am a client of SDS an
I would like to start off by saying that I am a client of SDS and I am NOT a spammer or anything of the sort. That said, I would like to tell you all how I feel about Superior Debt Services. I signed up with this site years ago and no longer recall my log in info. When I signed up, I was contacted by SDS. I have been using them for 3 years now and I have never had a problem with them. I have had Priscilla since day one and she has been a very helpful and pleasant woman to talk to. Even if she's not in the office, there is someone kind sounding and courteous who is willing to help with any questions you may have. Would I recommend them? Hell, Yes!
For the past three years I have learned to live with out credit cards. Sure I was aware of how just a few purchases will add up and so on, but what got the ball rolling in the direction of being debt free was one slip up on the credit company's part. I had sent a payment in to the creditor on time as usual. But seeing that we had a holiday, my mail was delayed a day getting to them. So they not only tacked on a late fee, but also doubled my interest. It's been so long I don't recall who it was, but I do know after a few times they did drop the late fee, but not the interest. I don't like being ripped off. I've been ripped off prior to that and was not going to let it happen again.
When we moved to a new town make a new life for ourselves, we found ourselves facing down the barrel of debt again. We had no problem paying the credit card bills as we moved into our new home (we had some extra left over from the sale of our previous home). Then the unexpected happened, the job that I was hired for didn't pan out and I was now on the market in a new area. Believe me, out here it was and still is a struggling area for a computer artist. With the local college the kids will work for peanuts and their work shows. We tried our best to make minimum payments, but with interests high enough it was a losing battle. We even contacted the creditors and explained our situation. A few actually helped, but most of them didn't really care. We ended up slipping and never got back up to speed.
Then the calls started.
I never answered them, I knew who they were and what they wanted. I searched around and found a debt consolidation company that we put half of the cards in. That worked out fine until I was talked into refinancing my home to pay the cards off with. Well in order to get that ball rolling we had to drop out of the debt consolidation service, that was a bad idea. After a month past the due date of getting our home refinanced, we got word that the company doing it went under and we were on our own. Great. Then the phone calls started up, this time it included the other cards.
So I looked around online while researching phone numbers of collection agencies who had been calling me. I found this company who not only would work with me, but also would take care of the harassing phone calls. Now it was a relief to find them, because one other company I was going to use wouldn't deal with a few of the collection agencies and told me they would work with the debt after it was sold to another collection agency and if I was sued I was on my own. Whatever. So I found the one who claimed they would do everything and would help if a collection agency wouldn't play ball and wanted to sue.
All I pretty much have to do is keep a call log and send it and any mail solicitations to them via mail, fax, or email. With the internet, it's easy to find out who is calling you and the agent will contact them on your behalf and work out a deal. I did get sued though. I had a shady (like they all aren't) debt collection agency who didn't want to play by the rules and attempted to sue me for money they claimed they gave me. My agent hooked me up with her lawyers and we got it settled out of court.
My wife and I are technically finnished with our contract with SDS, but we have extend it because we have one debt collector who still wants more than what we have in our account with SDS. Then when it's paid off we will be out of credit card debt. That will be great because with over $20k in credit card debt, our monthly payments with our agency was around $350. After a year it went down, and went down the third year. So pretty soon we will have an extra $330 to save to spend on a vacation (which we haven't been able to do since we got into debt). That also will be great because I'm still struggling to find a decent job, so I'm going to freelance and hopefully open a shop in town and be my own boss. With the debt out of my hair I can start to build my credit back up.
So what did I learn? A lot.
But just a few things I learned is that banks do not care about anything you can or cannot do. As long as they get their money back when they want it, they will not bother you. I also learned that they really don't care if you are in debt, they will still send you credit card offers, even if it's from a bank who has sent you to collections. Collection agencies are scum, but I don't need to tell you that. They will not only harass you by phone or mail, but they will call you at work (yes they have ways to find out), and they will call your family hoping that they can shake them down for money. My father used to have a fun time cussing and arguing with them. They don't care. They bought your info and they want to milk you or whoever will pay them. Debt collectors will try to scare you with lying to you about putting you in jail or even having balls enough to threaten your life. Their tactics are all uncalled for, a few simple phone calls and mail-outs are good enough. Many people who are in debt want to pay them off, they need to be mindful of that. Save the BS for the ones who deserve it.
The most important thing I have learned and I will continue to do for the rest of my life is never be a slave to the plastic. I will pay cash (check or debit) for anything I want. If I don't have the money, then I don't need it. If I need it (medical, auto repair, etc.) then I will work out a payment plan. I do plan on getting one credit card that is not tied in with my checking account for emergencies that may arise. But I will not have as many as I had and I will not be wiping it out just to buy something I thought I might want. We have learned to look for bargains to make our dollars stretch. Thrift stores, resale shops, garage sales, outlet stores, the list goes on and on. I reuse and recycle as much as I can. It's a life style that I have been attune to before letting the debt get out of control, and I have grown to like it.
Chase, Citibank, Wells Fargo, Sears/Home Depot, I've fought them all and I am winning. Yes it was their money from the start, but when I needed assistance they didn't want help. But I got help and now I am coming up on top. With most or all of my creditors filing for bankruptcy I don't have any pity for them. They got into debt just as easily as they led the rest of us. But I do want to pay my debt off and I did something about it. If you need assistance, seriously consider contacting SDS and talk with them. Superior really helped me out, my other alternative was bankruptcy, and honestly I couldn't even afford the $2000 to start the proceedings on that!!
In my final statement, I would like to promote a book my father gave to me on my birthday a few years ago. It's called "How to Survive Without a Salary: Learning How to Live the Conserver Lifestyle" by Charles Long. You can find it on amazon.com, I've read this book three times and I go back to it to get ideas. It's a damn good read, and I recommend everyone read it. It has helped me not only change my life, but also helped me while I was getting out of debt.
superior debt services WONDERFUL
We went with them after a GREAT deal of research. I have found Jamie Orth wonderful to work with as well as Janet Harper. I have been with them almsot 18 months and have settled almost $100,000 in debt for less than $30,000. They were honest, up front, helpful, and always responded to my calls and emails professionally.
I would not hesitate to reccomend them to anyone !
I've been with Superior for little over a year now, and only one
I've been with Superior for little over a year now, and only one account has been settled. I've read that from others - many more accounts have been settled??
Needless to say, ALL the calls have been pouring in from creditors - as part of the program process is to let the credit cards fall into default. The collection agencies are all now calling my family, and at work to track me down. I have been threatened with wage garnishments from creditors and my work phone and home phone ring nonstop.
I've read stories online where their clients were sued and had to go to court and wound up settling the debts on their own anyways. And lost thousands MORE than the original debt was for. Scary!
And, also the original balances I had on my cards have since tripled, and therefore I'm in even MORE debt now. And nonstop calls to my work line and home line don't stop. All hours, weekends, holidays - doesn't matter. I follow Superior's direction on telling the collection agencies to stop calling me at work, home, my family - but that doesn't stop them. No complaining will help stop the calls and its gotten to the point where I can't even sleep at night anymore out of fear of getting served papers (which I was told originally when I sign up that WOULD NOT happen, and last time I called Superior, I was told it could happen, but I would need to get my own lawyer). Even MORE legal costs on top of my tripled debt since I joined their program.
Also, when I ran my credit report - my home address changed to theirs!!
I need to move pretty soon and I can't find a place that will take me with such a terrible credit report! Superior's staff have been very pleasant and great to work with - but bottom line is that I've tripled my debt (interest rates, late fees keep on coming!) and Superior won't budge until more money goes into my account with them. And with lawsuits lurking, I can't afford to rack up thousands more of charges, and needing to find my own lawyer should I be called into court.
I'm really screwed and want out of the program ASAP! I've contacted my contact at Superior Debt, who won't return my calls or e-mails. Looks like I will cancel my ACH's that come out of my bank account every month in order to get my point across that I want out of this dent program before I stand in front of a judge explaining why I didn't pay. And Superior will not help me in anyway should that happen. I'll be completely on my own.
Turns out in the end, this program wasn't really for me.
Superior Debt
I have been in Superior Debt's program for three years now. The entire process has made me very satisfied. When I started I had 10 different accounts that needed to be settled and to date there is only one account that has not been settled and that is due to a lack of information that I had and a lack of the creditor attempting to contact me. I have had some accounts settle smoothly, and others that would refuse to settle with Superior. In those cases my account specialist walked me through the proccess and I was still able to settle. At the end, that account was removed from my plan and they reduced the fees that were owed. Also, my account specialist assisted me with how to talk to collection agencies and what info to give them and how to handle the calls. While they did not stop entirely, there was a noticable reduction and I was better able to avoid them.
Superior Debt has been very good to keep in touch, both via email and by phone, with me. I know when they settled accounts or had an opportunity to settle and they did a good job of letting me know what it would take. When I have had a need to not pay for a month due to things like moving, losing a job or some other issue they have been more than willing to work with me. The amount that I pay each month is well within my budget and when I enrolled they worked to get the amount I pay where I wanted it.
If you have $10K or more in credit card debt, I recomend you use Superior Debt. I have been very happy with the services rendered and the fees I paid were resonable in my opinion.

I am also thinking about signing up with Superior Debt. I have researched several other companies and most want up front fees and a monthly maintenance fee. I am working with Nicholas. Has anyone worked with him? Thank you

Glad I found this forum. I'm also looking to sign up with SDS and my contact, Janet Harper, has been very pleasant to work with. Although there are many positive posts regarding SDS, the negative ones are quite frightening. My main concern is that finance guru Clark Howard (for those unfamiliar with him, he has his own national radio and tv shows) does not recommend debt settlement and only recommends the National Foundation for Credit Counseling for those seeking assistance.
So even though I have all of SDS's paperwork and just need to sign and return it, I have set up an appointment with NFCC to discuss my options. Has anyone else dealt with NFCC?
I'm just not sure what route to take and feedback would be appreciated!

Do not sign with this company, all they want is the huge fee they get out of you and then tell you to file for bankruptcy. Jamie Orth is my agent, I have been with them for 17 out 30 months. They settled 3 accts, supposedly. Now, I am being sued for 2 accts and I am in the same amount debt as when I started with Superior. Jamie is now pushing me to file for bankruptcy.
Decide for yourself, are they a scam? I know now they are and should have filed for bankruptcy in the first place, but Superior talks a great talk. Too bad they can't back it up.
They are no better than the credit card companies, they are just out for their monthly fees.
Superior Debt Services
I am familiar with Superior Debt. I have been a client for one year and am VERY pleased. They didn't require up front deposits, nor did they require that I have a certain amount banked in my account prior to settling with my first creditor. I have one debt consultant that handles my case that I can call or email whenever I want/need to. They have settled several accounts on my behalf and have even fronted some settlement money for me. I would recommend.

I have dealt with them. They did not disclose to me that credit card companies have up to 3 years to discharge a debt after you pay them their money. I now owe taxes because I was told by SDS that all I had to do was prove insolvency at the time I paid the debt but that is not true.

BofA is one of the easiest cards to settle. I don't suggest paying some company to do something for you that can be so easily done on your own.
