Will I be penalized for late payment?

I have a question. Though the tax filing date is already over, I came to know from my tax consultant that I have a refund of about $800 from last year. This year I owe some local tax, which can be satisfied by that refund amount. I could not make the tax payment within the due date. My query is, will I be penalized if I make tax payment and the necessary documentation a little late, say by 1-2 weeks?

first you are getting the 800.00 right?if so then either have your tax consultant,or you contact the person handling the local tax,and let them know the situation.there will be a penalty,but if you do pay in the 1-2 weeks it should be small,but communication is key here.
