You wasted your postage sending this to me. You have violated the laws for the state of Tennessee for violating the interest rate cap, not being licensed and stealing well over the amount that was borrowed. Payday loans are nothing more than a debt trap and it is a shame that you use this time of year to trick people into your web of deception. I demand to be taken off your mailing list immediately. |
Any ideas are welcome to add to the letter.

That's too good Tammy!! IF you have one of their reply envelopes where they pay the postage, send it in that! Everytime I get an offer for those or credit cards, I use their postage paid envelope to send them little messages, usually does the trick!!..KAren :D

I know, make them pay to send it back. But what really gets me is that these are ones that marked the accounts paid in full. So they know they did wrong.

They are wanting the fees to pay the electric bill, and phone bill so they can call and harass if default should happen. Maybe they are needing the extra funds to prepare for the lawsuits coming their way from the AG's offices.
Christmas offers from PDLs
Tammy,
I am fighting with US Fast Cash at this time. I have overpaid fees by over $750, but they will not mark Paid in Full or refund. I have filed complaint with AG of Tn. and DOF in Tn. How did you get results from them?????
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks

I used the letter in polly's blog. Also, I found something very intersting on the bbb site.

The fast-cash industry provides cash advances to customers who meet certain criteria and allows them to borrow money today by issuing a check that won't be cashed for a designated time period. Fees charged by cash-advance businesses are capped at 15% or $30, which ever is less. No more than $500 can be advanced to a customer at any one time by all cash-advance outlets combined. A check can be held for no more than 31 days. A customer can have no more than two checks outstanding to any cash-advance business. The company must provide a written explanation of the transaction in clear, understandable language, as well as the date when the check will be deposited. "Flipping," or giving a customer more time to repay the loan in return for another fee, is prohibited. Companies that violate the law can be fined up to $1,000 for each transaction and for each day a violation continues. They can be forced to make refunds. If you feel a company is in violation you should contact the Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions for review. Cash-Advance loan companies should not be confused with the "Title Pawn" companies, the above regulations apply to the cash-advance loan companies only. Always, read completely and understand any document or contractual agreement, BEFORE signing. |
Are you also from Tennessee? I would put some of this information in the letter. Especially the force of refund part. Where you have obviously overpaid them.
Christmas offers from PDLs
Yes, I am from Tennessee. I have had PIF on 3 accounts, but I am pursuing refunds with all of these, but still fighting with USFast Cash and Route 66 to get paid in full + refunds. I am waiting for response from AG and DOF.
Any hints would be appreciated.

I get e-mails all the time from companies wanting me to reloan...Appolo sent me ANOTHER one like they did a few months ago...Also got one from PAA Advance..That's the one I had an e-mail fight with when he took out double fees..He did refund it. Then he sends me an email yesterday saying I'm such a good customer, that they are raising my credit limit to $600...I wrote him back and told him to take his $600 and shove it up his butt...lol
I think I will add that comment Jessi. If you don't mind.

I have noticed in the emails that I have received that the PDLs have changed the way their addresses are written. Normally, this kind of stuff would automatically be sent to the bulk mailbox. Now because they have changed the way it is written, it comes through anyway. But, I just mark it SPAM.

I received an email the other day from a company that I already have a defaulted pdl with. It was saying they can forgive my delinquency and reloan to me. Yeah right; these pdls must really think I'm stupid!!

That sounds like a good idea, but isn't it all computer driven and you are taking your anger out on it? I know, I am bursting your bubble here--if I were doing it I would say something real mature like "illegal doody heads".

brownsugar---I just reread your post above and I can't believe it! They must be desperate if they are offering to forgive your loan and your default status. How pathetic! Can you imagine being the owner of something like that and having to make your money that way?

They are probably just wanting banking info so they can try to collect on the defaulted loan. These people must really think I'm stupid.
