when i send the validation letter to the CA should I include my social security number? it's an item from my credit report i'm requesting validation, not from a letter received. Thanks!

At this point, you don't need to send your SSN# to the CA. You don't know if this company is making a legitimate collections. Giving out your SSN# will put you in deeper risk.

Follow the point listed in the debt validation request and get the details in writing. Send your letter through certified mail with return receipt requested for proof of your actions.
