Well, I haven't used a CCCS for many years, but at that time they were extremely helpful to me, and were non-profit as they claimed. There are many good points this video made though, there are many companies out there that claim to be non-profit when in fact they aren't. Anytime a CCCS claims to be non profit but there are charges involved, run fast and don't look back! However, if they ask for a donation, that's a different story altogether, and it also depends on the way they approach that too. The CCCS that worked for me, explained that they operate strictly on donations from the creditors and customers. They didn't make me feel obligated to make a donation at that time, but did mention that when I got back on my feet again financially, they would appreciate any token I was able to donate. So yes, there are honest agencies out there, just make sure you read the fine print and ask many questions about how they are able to provide this service free.
