I have created a new forum called:

"Content kept here with letter under penalty of perjury"

In this forum I will move the topics if some one sends me a letter under penalty of perjury that:
1. The content posted is false. or,
2. It is protected by the DMCA.

I am hoping that this will allow our forum to grow and not get sucked into mud slinging matches,

I am basically modeling it under the guidelines that yahoo has posted at:
http://info.yahoo.com/copyright/us/details.html

If you have any suggestions please let me know.

Quote:

What is the DMCA?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Millennium_Copyright_Act

Quote:
What do you mean by protected?

The content will have limited access.

Quote:
If I think a post is false or a link is false I send to you in a PM?

This policy is supposed to be used by companies and people who have mud thrown at them usually by anonymous people coming to the forum and doing "drive by posting"

If someone wants content to be moved to this forum they will need to send me a letter under the penalty of perjury that they know that this content is false or is protected under DMCA. Basically the same guidelines as Yahoo as posted at: http://info.yahoo.com/copyright/us/details.html

Thanks for all the support,

Vikas

Okay I am dumb. None of that makes any sense to the me at all.

I understand there is a new forum but I have no idea what all that means.

"pentaly of perjury". I don't know what that means.

"companies or people" does that apply here or anywhere?

I am sorry that I am still confused.

Maybe if I am just an average member/poster then this forum does not apply?

So we can still Quote another website or article as long as we give the props to where we got it right?

Yes.

I was referring to some of the recent threads in the forums where users have tried mud-slinging acts.

Threads like that?

Yeh if some one is willing to send me a fax stating under penalty of perjury that the content posted is false or violates the provisions of the DMCA I will move the content to this new forum.

I have been speaking to the copyight/internet libel and defamation attorney at http://www.saperlaw.com/index.php and I will work with them to evolve our policies.

Thanks Paul for referring me to such a good resource,

Regards

ding, ding, ding, ding?

Allright Bob Barker . . . . er, I mean PaulMergel, what did I win?

And you don't have to tell me to help control the pet population, either. I have all my cats and my dog spayed and/or neutered.

Seriously, though, that is a very good idea! Should take the winds out of the sails of some of the nut-bags.

Speaking of nubt-bags, I wonder whatever happened to Super-Brad . . . Haskins? He must be busy spending his "size-able retainer?"
