I have paid cash today ltd over 479.00 for a 200.00 loan this is not my only pdl but, I froze my checking account because everytime I would ask them to pay off my loan they just would take more fees out instead.
So, I received a e-mail from them today stating:
Unfortunately your recent payment on 8/11/06 has been returned by your bank ACCOUNT FROZEN
It is of course possible that there has been some administrative error and if this is the case, we would urge you to contact us and your bank to clarify the situation. The bank account from which we attempted to debit is the same account into which we placed the loan initially.

If there has been some administrative error or you wish to discuss this situation, the please call us on
1-800-670-4075.

Well suggestions please!

You can try advising them that you've overpaid and are done with it, but since they are based out of the UK, that's most likely not going to work, it didn't for me. I had to bite the bullet and settle with them for $250, they would not leave me alone.

If your acct. is frozen, make them aware of this and ask them for their mailing info so you can send a money order. They will try and bully you into bank details and say you'll be done with them after they draft the amount to settle the acct., but I wouldn't give them your bank info again. Just tell them it's a money order or nothing.

Good luck!
Tiffany

I'm with Tif on this.
These are the worst of the worst to deal with. Give them a call and ask what it would take to settle and send them a money order. See if they'll take off some of the charges you've paid since they didn't respond to your requests to pay the loan off. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR ACCOUNT INFO! credit card, debit card or anything else.
They are notorious for harrassing you if you don't pay, and will constantly call at all hours of the day and night.
Let us know what happens.

When you started paying back your loan, were you paying back any of their NSF fees? Was this a payday loan place that required you to pay back everything, or pay a renewal fee? I would also recommend reading over your contract before calling them again. That way you won't find any surprises.

Regards
Mike

No I was only paying on the fees, there were no NSF
fees involved I paid 479.00 in fees against a 200.00 loan I live in Arizona and I believe the max they could have charged on a 200 loan was 30.00. But, There is no contract it was verbal over the phone they said they were recording I believe they are out of the country.

You're right, they are in the United Kingdom and don't issue a contract, it's all done verbally over the phone. They'll let you keep paying the extension fee until doomsday on a $200 loan, and it doesn't matter what your state payday loan laws are. They'll tell you they operate under British law and don't have to follow your state laws. I'm guessing they'll probably settle with you for somewhere between $200 - $250.

If you come up with an agreed upon settlement figure, they'll leave you alone until the due date. If you don't pay as agreed, they'll be on you like Erzeke said, day and night.

I've just paid them off, and didn't have the money to do it really, but at least I don't have to be harrassed at work anymore.

Unfortunately Cash Today does not work inside the United States. They claim UK laws and can and will do anything to collect.
Also their "paperless" tactics get you in the hole. Read the numerous posts regarding this company.
You can complain to the AG all you want, but they will not stop with the harrassment.
Again, my suggestion is pay them and get rid of them once and for all.

I changed numbers they can harrass all they want and there are laws here which protect what they can or cannot do. Ill give it some time before i add them on to my consolidtaion to see what happens.plus in ohio you have to have a liscense to operate here for ohio

What about the letter in Polly's blog? I hate to have to pay them more money I have two others one with paragon and M1ydirect also both of those are for 300 each and I have paid them around 690.00 each.

I am having trouble with those bloodsuckers too. I took a $200 loan and now they claim I over darned near $1,000!!! That's usury no matter how you slice it. Unfortunately, since they apparently operate under British law; there's little or nothing that can be done to stop them. However, I did get an address to send a money order to. An address in Oklahoma. If I can prove they have an office here in the U.S., then I could complain to the Federal Trade Commission or something like that.
