Have you pulled your own credit report lately, this would give you the information that you need so you can verify what debts you have and the amounts you owe. You can pull a fee credit report from all the major credit places at annualcreditreport.com
In the meantime, what kind of payday lenders are you dealing with..online or storefront? Also what state are you in?

They are going to start harassing you with threatening phone calls, possibly demanding you send them some enormous amount of money by a specified time or else you are going to be arrested, they will accuse you of comitting fraud (you didn't) These are just false threats. Use the template letter on this site to settle your accounts with the internet pdls. And put your state laws in the letter. If you still legally owe on the principal after you deduct the excessive fees/interests you are obligated to pay back what you borrowed minus the illegal fees/interest.
