I have a few questions.
1) How would I get in touch with a company called Unifund Corp.?
2)Unifund is reporting a debt that was incurred in 2002 as a charge off. The origanil CC was issued by Providian. Providian has reported it on my credit report twice, and Unifund periodically updates my Credit report with the same debt, so that it appears that it never reaches it's SOL. What this means is that I have 3 negitive reports on my credit for the same debt.
Unifund has increased that dept over $2000.00 above the initial charge off amount.
We have no contact info on this Unifund Corp.
There are other items to be cleaned up, but this seems to be the biggest problem thus far.

I am looking to clean up my credit, rather then claim bankruptcy. Any help we can get would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

The date of last payment on your account should only be used to calculate the SOL in your state. No legal actions are possible after the SOL is expired. Regarding the inaccurate negative items put in your credit report, dispute them with the bureaus. They will check on this and update your file, if required. Collection fees are allowed if it is mentioned in the original signed contract with Providian. Every state has laws on collection fees. No company should charge above the fees allowed in every state. You will have to ask Unifund and get the charges in writing.
