I get about one a month of these, I just delete them but if I got more than I would have to contact Verizon and see if I could get text messageing disabled as I do not use this feature myself

If you have Verizon, you can go to vtext and block numbers that you don't want to receive text messages from. Being that many people get charged per text message, this sort of thing is serious!

For me text messaging and email are my favorite forms of communication. I pay for unlimiited 'in' texts, and 500 out of network texts a month. I am not always a big talker, so if I have something to say, I quite often send a text rather than calling. It works for me. From what I gather though if you don't purchase a monthly package, depending on the carrier a text can cost between a dime and 75 cents per text. So yeah, who the heck wants to pay for a PDL solicitation!!!!!! I guess I would text them back and say 'bite me', before I blocked there number just on principal! But that's just me 8)

LOL Polly! I had to chuckle at that comment. I am not a bit texter myself. I've thought about adding it to my cell phone package to chat with some friends from the forum. I really only get e-mails saying I am qualified for another loan. I e-mail them back and ask them to take me off of their list. It takes a couple of times but usually works.

Hey here's a thought, if you have the numbers they texts came from, post them so others (at least verizon customers) can block them .. also if you have verizon, report them to Verizon Customer service as spam. Verizon has a VERY strict policy against spam.

LCW is correct. You can contact your cell phone provider and let them know to block that sender. If they get enough, they can flag the sender as a spammer in the SMS message system.

We have Verizon and they will be getting a call Monday. We have the unlimited text, but pdls texting is way out of line. Like he is going to get another loan. I don't think so. We both learned a hard lesson!
