Took this loan out a while ago, and forgot to pay it off. We got rid of the internet so I totally forgot. I do not have the money to pay them now. Can they take us to court over this or garnish wages??

First, check UCL if they are licensed in your state. Most internet pdl do their business without a license. You can verify their info with the Dept of Corp.

Illinois Division of Financial Institutions
Address: Consumer Credit Section, 320 W. Washington Springfield, IL 62701
Phone: (888) 298-8089

If the company is doing the business without a license, they have no right to garnish your wages because they are violating the laws in your state.

Calculate how much have you paid on this loan account. If there is an outstanding balance, call them for a payment arrangement. Don't use your checking account for the payments. Money order is good.

If you have paid the full amount, get the account closed by the pdl. They need to send you a 'Paid in Full' letter.
