Almost 2 weeks since I walk in and told the storefront that what they were doing was illegal and that I was filing complaints with the AG and Dept of Corps In CAL.. Unless they returned all of my blank checks.. I then followed up with a letter RRR. And still no checks and no collections.. I did file all the complaints and still so stressed out. I am waiting for the ball to drop.. And I am sure it will.. I cant believe that they would just give up.. I just have to remember to reinstate the stop payents every 6 months..
Has anyone dealt with the California State agencies ?? How long until you hear anything back from them?

From my other thread.. long story :-)

I am in California.. and I have seen the law.. 1 loan ( they bought up a 4 of mine and wont return the ones i have paid) they are holding 7 checks 3 paid...
No Rollovers I pay between 135 and 235 every 2 wees
Fees Posted .. Nope..
No Contract No reciepts given ( i only have 1 because the person working that day was new)
they are so breaking the law. I have paid over 5000.00 and have no idea what i even owe anymore... this is the only way i know to get control is to report them.. I told them if they send all my checks back i would go away... on the phone and my certified letter.. they told me ok.. then nothing.. i have to follow through i just need to know where to go i have to beleive there is help for me somewhere
so for the rant... i really thought she would mail everything back another foolish thought..

Which company is this? Another member is going through almost the same thing with a storefront, I'm wondering if it is the same company, sounds so familiar. You are doing the right thing. You should do weekly follow ups in regards to your complaints with the agencies you filed them with. My AGs office was quick to act and contacted my pdls, but I still followed up with them, just to let them know I'm still around, and to let them know the progress of settling with the pdls.

PDL,
I am also in CA and to the best of my knowledge, this storefront is one that the member Steelers was talking about is having problems with. As I'm not familiar with it, I think it's probably in Southern CA am I right?
I have had many dealings with storefronts in Northern CA and I can tell you that all they can charge is 15 percent interest with no rollovers--and fees are posted all over the store. This is also CA law.
