Hi guys!!!

Thursday is Thanksgiving..Can you believe it? Where has the time gone?

It's going to be an incredibly busy week for me, so I have to get all emotional right now...

I have to count all the things I'm thankful for..I'm thankful for my health, and the fun I have. I'm thankful for my husband and son, and the rest of my family. I'm very thankful for this site...Last year at this time I was in a terrible spot, I can't believe I'm the same person. This place and the people here helped pull me out of it, and I'm soooo thankful.

I've made some really close personal friends here, people I talk to off the board, and I truly love them. Also, I'm making new friends here all the time..I'm really really thankful for everyone here and what we all do for each other.

Have a happy Thanksgiving, I love the Holidays more than anything, this is going to be such a fun time!!

Tammy: I am so sorry to hear about your husband and son's accident. I will keep all of you in my prayers. Try to just enjoy Thanksgiving and not worry for this one day about anything (easier said than done, I know). And remember, you're strong. You've been through financial difficulties before. You will get through this. You have the determination and strength to do this. Good luck to all of you.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!!

Tammy, I am very sorry about the incidence. Trust me, everything will be fine. I will pray for your family. Stay in touch. If I can do anything, please don't hesitate to talk to me.

I remember last year few of us were together. This year we have more people in the group. I am very happy to be a part of this family. Thanks everyone for your support.

Regards
Vikas

Tammy! I'm so sorry for you husband and son, that guy who crashed them and ran is a real ass, he has no business calling himself a man. If he has any decency he will step up to the plate and assume responsibility. He owes your family medical expenses and a new vehicle.

I am so sick of these tards who break the law thinking that it's cool and they are a bunch of wild stallions that can't be tamed. They have all the intellect of a lawn sprinkler and they disgust me.

I wish you guys all the best, and a speedy recovery.

kyside38, please take care of your health. I hope you are feeling better after the surgery and there have not been any complications since. Please take rest and eat well. Stay in touch. I will be looking forward to your speedy recovery.

Michelle, how is your hubby? I hope he is keeping well.

Haven't talked to JJ since quite a long time. Anyone in touch with him?

Regards
Vikas

Yes , I have been busy Vikas! I finally finished my web-zine! I also finished studying for my insurance license. I plan on coming back to the forum full force very soon, I'm hearing my name cried out over and over again in the student debt consolidation forum, I can't leave my people!

Let me just cap this off with the things I'm thankful for:
My health and my life
My husband and little cat
My gorgeous house
My job and the awesome people I work with
My webzine
Assistance from all those involved in helping me pass the insurance exams
This forum and all the wonderful folks I met here

we went to my Mom's house..It was me, my husband and son, and my sister and brother-in-law and their kids. This is our second Thanksgiving without my Dad, and even though it still hurts more than anything, we talked about him all day and laughed. It was fun, and I really think he was there with us.

Jinkies, I ate waaaaay too much. I run, and I went out a little bit ago, and it took everything I had not to quit and flop back on the couch. What kept me going was that the scale told me today's dinner added 2 pounds. Ouch.

Hi all - had my parents & my brother, his wife & two kids over yesterday, and my house survived! LOL

Lots of food, laughter, and good stories. Sis in law and I went out after dinner to Kmart and bought stuff for the Adopt a Family and Angel Tree, so we did our part to help someone else have a nice holiday. Our tree is up today, but it's one of those darn prelit ones and a couple of bulbs must be out because it's not all lit! So I'm working on finding the missing bulbs. I guess next year I'll invest in a new one.

Everyone have a great weekend!

We went to my sister's on Thanksgiving Day and stuffed ourselves until we couldn't walk. I met up with mom Friday morning to go grocery shopping. That turned out to be a girl's weekend. I spent a couple of nights at her house and we did some Christmas shopping. I paid cash for it all :-) I'm so proud for that fact. We had a nice girlie weekend. I think we both needed it. We have a lot to be thankful for this year :-)

Well, we survived Thanksgiving with belly aches after over eating. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers. My little boy is still terrified to be in a vehicle. My hubby is still sore, but with time I think he will recover. They still haven't found the a**hole who caused the accident. I can't believe how heartless some people can be. Glad to read everyone had a good turkey day.

Well, when people say things can't get any worse, THEY ARE WRONG!!! Hubby was coming home from work and hit a deer! A buck to boot. The horn went through the radiator and busted the grill and all headlights. We are wondering now, what in the hell have we done wrong? I came up with the solution that the pdl companies have put a curse on us because we went after them for all their wrong doing. I am to the point, I am ready to give up!

OMG! Is your hubby okay? It must be the year for dear. I almost hit one on the way home from work tonight. There was a big pack crossing the road. I had to go into the ditch to miss him. I was able to drive out though. I can understand having a rough year but you guys will put through it. Let me know if you need anything. I will keep you guys in my prayers :-) Love ya!

Tammy, I think WTF are the three letters that spring to mind most frequently when I think of you on this thread. I don't have to hope, I KNOW you will make it through this one even stronger. You once thought the pdl companies had you by the tail and you were cornered and confused...but you whupped ass! Now, this is a pain in the ass, I myself have always thought of cars and riving as a great nemesis, I think many of us do. (I can't even open the driver side door of my heap) But like the pdl situation, this is another temporary agony, and all pains eventually go away.

Well, update. The truck has over $4000.00 worth of damage. Went to the insurance company this morning and they stated it would be late Thursday before an adjustor will contact us to see the truck. Then the adjustor will do his thing and then send the paperwork to Memphis to the main office which will take another week. It gets better, then they send the check to us and then we have to send it to the leinholder for their approval and once we have their approval, we can get it fixed. WTF, why does the lein holder have to know about it. All they should be concerned with is whether they get their monthly payment. So, when this mess is done, we are definately changing insurance companies. Then the insurance company also told us that this will go against our insurance and our rates will increase. For goodness sake, it was a damn deer. I thought it fell under act of nature. It isn't like the deer was sitting there waiting for him to come through and picked our truck to jump in front of.

Wow, unbelievable! Tammy sorry to hear all this happened and I wasn't around for you. I am sure everything will turn out for the best. I got hit twice within a couple of weeks of each other by a driver w/o insurance and then by a carjacker (of all things in Iowa!!) about 3 years ago and it did turn out (kind of) okay. You are strong and you guys are in a much better position financially than you were so you'll be fine. Keep your chin up and email or PM me if you need to talk!!!

Sue

Well the adjustor came and looked at the truck he told us that they will not approve the air condensor, power steering pump cooler, rims or tires on the claim. He stated they can be fixed. We asked him how in the hell can they just repair a air condensor and power steering cooler that still has the deer horns in it? He stated they will put some kind of patch. The stuff needs replaced. I always thought that the purpose of insurance was to fix a vehicle if something happens. Guess when you are with Direct Auto Insurance, your vehicle doesn't get fixed right! All the damage requires new parts according to all three places we got estimates from. Direct is only offering 2200.00 for repairs and all three estimates are over $4000.00.

My suggestion is to verify what other companies are offering in a situation like this. If you realize your insurance company is not paying you for the damages, file a police compliant and hire an attorney. Hopefully, the court will prove your claim is valid. It is not easy taking out money from their pockets but you have to get it anyway. For this, if you have to go the legal way, do it. Inform the company so that they know your actions.
