Judgements might last the 10 year period but I'm not sure. I guess it would depend on if they were being paid or not. The garnishment reporting will stay there for 7.

What I'm trying to dispute is that I have a garnishment on my credit report. So it is being reported that way. Then the CA is also reporting it on my credit report as well. Thirdly (is that a word) the original creditor is still reporting it as well. It only says charged off. So I am being dinged 3 times for one account. The garnishment should read that it was done on behalf of the CA or something like that. I just don't think I should have 3 things on there. And what's worse, I let the CA garnish my wages. When I got the judgement, they were willing to work out a payment plan with me but I said just go ahead and continue with the garnishment. Then I would know that they would be getting their money and it would be taken care of. I wasn't knowledgeable enough to negotiate what my credit report should reflect. The CA was one of the more professional ones. They were good to work with and pleasant to speak too. So, that's why I am trying to dispute some of the items. Plus the garnishment was about 2-3 years ago.

Did the original creditor sell off the debt to the CA? That is the only way a CA can do garnishment on your account.
Usually, CAs who are hired by the creditors send the file back to them so that they only carry on with the garnishment procedures.

I am guessing that they did since I was garnished and the CA was listed on the judgment and my credit report.

Then the creditor is allowed to mark the account with a zero balance only. They will have their listing in the report and the judgment will come up under the collection agency.
