It is legal for them to report account information every month.
It is legal for them to report account information every month. What really matters is the DOFD (Date of First Delinquency). Seven years after after the DOFD, it should come off the credit report.
It seems the above report does not list the DOFD:

You could dispute that report on the grounds it is not accurately reflecting the DOFD.

Date of first delinquency is to be considered only to calculate the term of negative item to stay in the credit report, in case payment on the account stops.
After the SOL expires, you get the legal protection and no one can take you to the court. That is why a company tries to collect before the account gets past the SOL. Or, in case, if it's past the SOL, they will insist you to do a small payment so that the SOL gets renewed.
