Hi I have recently taken out a payday loan. Everything was going ok until I realized that my bank information had been leaked to other companies who were trying to debt my account with out my consent. I closed my checking account and opened uo a new one. I tried calling and emailing the payday loan company to make payment agrrangements but I never got any replys. Yesterday I recvied a very threating phone call from Bass and Associates telling me to get a lawyer and that they will be presenting three affadavit's to My state Massachusetts for innernet fraud. I am not quite sure what to do I called the company in question and was given the number to I Collect I called and left several messages with no response has of yet. I just want to make payment aggrange ments. What should my next step be.

First, you should get the debt with complete info from the collection agency. It is to be sent in writing. All CAs have to follow the federal laws and confirm about their genuine collections. You need to be sure that the money is going to the right place and your account is getting posted.

By laws, the letter should come within five days after the first phone call. If you don't get anything in your mail, send a debt validation letter to the company's mailing address. They burden will fall on them to give you the info. Don't make any arrangements with the company before seeing the account.

At some point during the process of closing out your checking account, and the next payday, you must have told your bank not let anything clear. Most banks will allow for certain things to clear that you tell them.

Call a bank representative and see if this was an error. Perhaps you can present a letter from them to your payday lendor, and let them take out the money the next day without any NSF fees. The money is still there, correct?

Next, have you filed a police report yet. You claim that a company has gained assess to your account and is taking money out that is not authorized. Try to remember if you signed anything. Or said "YES" to you agree to the annual membership fee of $59.99 after the 90 day trial.

What payday loan company did you go through.

Also, what company is trying to get money from your account that is not authorized. Perhaps we can track down a customer service number for you that can provide more information.

Regards
Mike
