LISAZEBE - there should be a phone number or account number on your credit report connected with LVNV Funding. If there isn't any contact info on the credit report for LVNV, here's what I found online:

(www.resurgent.com) at 888-665-0374

This company is connected with Resurgent, a collection agency, which has been mentioned many times on this forum. I would research your records as much as possible before contacting this company, to be sure this debt is actually yours.

Also, since you have registered with this site, a debt counselor will be contacting you within a couple of days to discuss their consolidation or settlement programs. You may choose to utilize their program or not - it sounds like you do have a good handle on getting out of debt already.

Please keep posting and keep us updated on your progress!

Call the company and request them to send you details of the account because of which they have done the reporting in your credit. They should be able to validate your debt account by following the fdcpa. You will come to know the actual picture and propose payment arrangements. If they aren't sending you any info, send a follow up letter. Still, if you don't hear from them, dispute the item with the credit bureau reporting it. Tell them about your actions taken to resolve the matter with the company. The bureau will investigate with them and get the proper info. If your dispute is found correct, the item will be considered inaccurate reporting and your credit report will be updated with true information. You will have to act quickly because if this is incorrect reporting by the LVNV Funding, your credit score is getting hurt without valid purpose.

Dispute the debt. In full. Mail it certified because if they do not respond, they have to remove it, and a lot of places to not respond if they do not have a valid debt. A lot of collection agencies see where they can buy debt and tripple the profit because people will pay what they know they owe, and a lot of times they are made up debt and they will convince you to belive it is valid because they have your personal information.

Or someone could have used your information. My mom used to use my social security number when i was a child, her stuff is still on my credit report today.
