who is northwest debit and why did they charge my bank acct for $635.00 ($317.50) twice. I never requested a loan from them and especially I would not have done so twice. This has put my bank account in the red. Please clarifiy immediately. Thank you. Doraine Langerman

Hi Doraine -

a search of this site turns up nothing under the name of Northwest Debit.

If you mean Northway Debit (please check your bank statement to clarify), here's how to contact them to get this straightened out:

contact Northway Debit at this address.

They are a payday lender. They go under many other names as well. Have you taken out a payday loan with them? If so, the best thing you can do is to pay it off immediately. If you haven't taken out a payday loan, and you don't know why they are debiting your bank account, I would recommend going straight to your bank tomorrow and speaking to the manager. Tell them this debit was unauthorized, and that you may need to close your account and re-open another account in order to regain control of your money. This company is known for debiting under different names if you simply put a stop payment on one of their names with your bank. Sometimes closing your account is the only way to stop them.

I hope this has been helpful. If you have any further questions, please let us know.

I know one thing for sure. If it is Northway, you don't want to put off paying the loan. I was trying to get it paid but for two months in a row I had family issues pop up that required me to put on the Supergirl cape and save my kids from their financial issues before those issues got any bigger and uglier and ultimately affect me even more than they were at that point. In the third month, I was embarrassed when the staff manager came to me and showed me a letter she received from CashTransfer requesting a deduction from my pay. I authorized the deduction because I knew that the next step would have been garnishment papers. If you want to keep your persona life and your work life separate, make payment arrangements and pay them asap.

For this company to get a garnishment from you, they would have to take you to court and get a judgement and I seriously doubt they would do that b/c they are not licensed. You could have revoked that wage assignment.

I know that NOW! This was about a month ago before I found this forum. Wish I could go back and undo it, but it's done. The upside is that I have another company that I owe money to who I just found is not licensed in my state and I've paid so much in fees that I believe I don't owe them anything else. I wouldn't have known this before and I was expecting to pay the full amount due. Now I can make them a counter-offer and advise them that if they will consider the loan paid in full, I won't report them to the state AG's office. I think that's a fair deal, don't you?

If you have paid back the principal and legal interest rate for your state in those roll over fees or the "refinancing" fees then I would demand that they mark your account paid in full and still report them to the AGs office. Too many of these ipdls are taking advantage of people in financial crisis and they are only making things worse, and they are operating without licenses in majority of the states. I was able to get Northway to mark my account PIF when I demanded they do so and with the help of my AGs office notifying them that there was a complaint in their office against them.

You know, on second thought I probably will.

Just got into my e-mail. Boy what a turn around on CashNetUSA. A month ago I was the bad guy. They didn't call, but they sent enough e-mails letting me know I was in default on my loan to them. Finally got them paid off (they are legal in my state). Today I open my e-mail and had to messages from them. The first one was offering a 10% discount on fees on a new loan. The second one was advising me that I was now upgraded to a Gold standard and I was qualified for a 25% discount on fees. I think I'll choose no loan -- no fees and keep my money for me.

No. They're still in my trash can so I can still respond to them. Think I'll give them a cheesy response:

"Thank you for your gratious offer. However, since becoming a member of debtconsolidationcare.com, I find that I will NEVER need your services again. I therefore respectfully request that I never hear from you again. I am wiser now and have a new goal -- to educate others who get sucked in financial disaster by payday loan companies. I therefore, respectfully request that you TAKE A HIKE."
How's that? Anyone want to help, this could be fun.

You could always do what I am doing. Reply that you might be interested and give them the Attorney Generals phone number. I think they are getting the message QUICK I dont have those e-mails anymore. LOL KYSIDE38
