I owe payday lenders, but pennsylvania's law is too hard for me to understand, can anyone put the PA law in english for me please?

The laws in PA are different from other states. Here, payday lending is prohibited. But if a lender is licensed in their state, they have the rights to loan people in PA. Check for the company if they are licensed in their state. PA charges $9.50 per $100 per year discount or 24% per year

I looked at the laws on the PA banking site and the Attorney Generals office. Called one lender so far and got great results. Original loan was for $300, I have paid $90 x 4 in fees ($270) so far. They offered me a settlement of $200, I refused and told them that Pa law prohibits payday lending, that I have paid $270 of the loan and calculated fees of $9.50 per $100. Thought my balance with them should be $58, they settled for $60 and will not debit my account anymore. Only have 4 more to call, yeah, got really jammed up but am on fire now. Thanks a million. Will update after I call the other lenders.

Get the deal in writing. There should be a proof of this arrangement otherwise it never happened. Once your account is paid off, don't forget to get your account marked closed. If you don't have a "PIF" in writing, the company may sell off the balance to some other company and they will attempt collections for the same account.

I am from Pa, does anyone know if a payday lender is allowed by law to contact your employer? It is cashtransfercenter, they will not work with me on payments, want full amount NOW. Very demanding! Anyone have any advice or dealt with this company?

Follow Steelers advice immediately. This is one dirty company. Also check your secretary of states website to see if they are licensed in your state. If they are not licensed let them have it. You have to stand firm with them. KYSIDE38

CTC just pulled thier full amount from my bank account, so I should be finished with them.
I just wanted to let everyone know that paydayyes is the only one that showed any type of cooperation with me. They took my state information and not only applied it to the loan, but refunded a few bucks as well.
Arrowhead did break everything down into manageable payments. They say they are a very small company and can't afford to refund or take off any fees. Think this part is crap, but at least they were keeping things manageable for me. Just can not wait to get out of this nightmare. This has been the most stress I have been under in years. I still have a few more to deal with but I am showing progress, thank god and thank you guys for all your help and support.
