It looks like allied interstate has increased the number of calls and most of the files they have are disputed. Send a cease and desist letter to the collection agency.
Keep a track of all the calls in case you want to file legal actions for violating the fdcpa.
Do like I am about to do and send them a cease and desist letter
Do like I am about to do and send them a cease and desist letter that informs them that it is against the law for them to contact you. Especially wasting valuable daytime minutes for a company you don't owe any money to anyway.
Don't you just love it when they call your cell phone and waste minutes and your time?
Alexandra, I'm almost positive that that's prohibited by the FDC
Alexandra, I'm almost positive that that's prohibited by the FDCPA20. I seem to recall a clause in there saying that CAs are not permitted to contact a debtor in any manner that causes the debtor to incur costs for accepting the communication. It was originally intended to apply to collect calls from CAs, but I'm sure it would apply to cell phones today as well. I just can't find the clause in the fdcpa offhand.
