My dad passed away about two years ago, he left a Sears bill unpaidn he left no money how ever i did get his house. Do i have to pay that bill?

I believe there is no moral obligation to pay someone else's debts. People are responsible for themselves and no one else, morally.

But, I also know that in some cases, a spouse gets linked to the debts when one of them expires. You should not be held responsible for your parent????????s debts.

Survivors typically aren't responsible for the parent's debts. But, the collection agencies will use their aggressive collection practices to get the money from you. Looking at the estate, the creditor might intend to file a case against you for your parent's debts. The situation will be unfortunate to happen and the family home and other assets may have to be sold. Make sure you know the SOL of the state where the debt occurred. No legal actions can take place if the debt is already past the SOL
