I talked with Consumer Credit Council of America today. They say that they can help me with my payday loans. It cost me 2500 for the attorney who's name is Richard Brenna and Associates. Anyone heard of him? They work with the PDL's and try to settle for 46% of the loaned amount. They set me up on a 24 month payment plan that would cost me 152.00 a month........since I am paying out about 900.00 a month now to them this seems great. To get started I have to give them the first 152.00 to get this started. I looked them up on the BBB and they seem ok.........just wanted to know if anyone has heard of them and what they have heard.

I believe if you do a search on here you will find some posts about a Richard Brennan. I don't know what kind of posts they were, meaning positive or negative, but I would check them out. I wouldn't send any money until I got some type of references. Yeah, the BBB is good, but it never hurts to hear first hand accounts.

Consumer credit counseling has had mixed reviews across the nation. Some offices are good, but most, I hear are bad. My son went them to help with getting his student loan from the university paid off. They didn't make the payments and my son was unable to attend school until the entire amount was paid off. The only thing that saved his credit was that CCA was shut down by the state of Utah. They're back now, so they must have worked out some deal with the state or reorganized. Even if they reorganized, I wouldn't take my chances.
