Ok so far GFSIL has been the most harrassing...They have left nast messages on the voicemail at work(which by the way is not my personal voicemail) stating that I am going to be investigated for fraud yadda yadda...Anyway I have filed compliants with the FTC and the AG of OH..I have sent them letters(8 total) via fax, mail and 2 certified mail which they did not sign for but I know they received the faxes because the won't have called all day and then about an hour after I fax, they start calling. Do I just sit back now and wait? What else can I do?

Don't worry Leah---I think they will eventually get tired of hearing that you know longer work there. Have they been calling you at home too? I know when I was being called constantly, my mom (who lives with me) got into the habit of just saying "she's not here", then they would ask who she was and she would say "I just answer the phone here, I don't answer questions"
(she cracks me up---78 years old)

They somehow got my mobile number and call that incessantly..Needless to say I do not answer it because 1-i don't have the money to run up my bill everytime they call and 2-I have said all i have to say to them via fax, email and USPS. As far as calling my home number-I don't keep a phone at home anymore because I was never home to use it between work and school so it was a waste of money.

Leah,

I remember someone on this board either told a funny story over what they did or what they would have done.

When they call your job again, give them your new number. The number of AG's office in your state. Most of the time, you have to be smarter than these mean people.

I would love to be a fly on the wall when you gave them the number to the local sheriff's department. Why don't you give them the number to the fraud department. I bet that they wouldn't get a kick out of that.

These payday loan companies have a lot of nerve calling you on your job to collect a debt. But they are not as bad as those who come to your job to collect a debt. That has be beyond ridiculous.

Best that you know what your rights are. The Fair Debt COllection Act is a wonderful tool. You should have that sucker memorized.
