the collection agency that i really dis-like is allied interstate they start calling at 8am and never stop until late at night. and when you try to reason with them and sent up payments they give you a outragious amout that they want you to pay a month like that's your only bill you have to pay. they care less if you got to eat or pay rent all they want you to do is pay them. then when they call you by mistake looking for someone else they will argue you up and down that you know the person that they are looking for.

I will agree with you 100%. They were calling me until I sent them a letter telling them to stop calling me. I haven't had a problem since. They would call me twice using different numbers every day. However I am waiting on them to validate the so called debt that they claim I owe. I find it might odd that they haven't done so. If they had everything in order then they shouldn't have any problem sending me everything that I requested in my validation letter. If I get another letter from them trying to make me pay without them having validated, I will not waste any time filing suit. I am fully prepared. They are scum and could care less about people. But at least the phone calls have stopped.

I agree completely about the employees from this company being the rudest individuals I have ever spoken with. They start calling at 8:00 am from two different numbers and do not stop. I have spoke with them and hope to never hear from them again. The last call I received from them start out with the lady asking to speak with me. When I asked her what she needed she asked me to verify my date of birth. At this point she had not told me what company she was with or anything. When I questioned why she needed this information she got very ugly, started yelling at me and stated that she did not have to tell me anything until I verified some information. When I told her that I was not going to give her any information because I had no idea who she was or who she worked for she continued to yell at me, got even more rude and told me to get off of my queen thrown and hung up on me. When I called the number back and asked to speak with a supervisor he would not help at all. He had the same attitude as the first lady that called. I told him that I would not give out any personal information over the phone without knowing some information about the company. He told me that if I continued to persist on this the call would be terminated and he hung up on me. I hope they do loose their license or maybe have many law suits filed against them for harassment.

Used to get multiple calls daily. Sent out 2 letters, CM-RRR requiring they validate their claim(s). Interestingly, they eventually passed it on, and never did follow up on my validation request!

But, I do NOT know how they are on the phone, as I've actually never spoken to them. I don't/won't answer my phone.

calls my house wanting someone who I don't know. Calls constantly. Says my home is a place of business and that this person works here. This is my HOME! I answer hello - not with a business name.
They have never sent a bill to my home - so how can you stop them?

Allied says I owe a book club for books I "should have bought" during my membership. I told them to send me a physical bill in the mail and that I will not do business with them over the phone. They still call and will not send a statement detailing who the book club is and so forth. I refused to give them information and demanded they send me a statement through the mail. They are still calling.

So far as I know, I completed my book club membership before I cancelled. I don't know for sure, because I don't have statements.

I am going to try to contact the bookclub and write a letter to Allied  though I don't really have hope that will help. In the meantime, my credit is hurt because of books I "should have" ordered. What a crock!

GUYS! Send them a Cease and Desist !! Fax it into them 5 times with a copy of the specific FDCPA statute (I think it is 805 b) that they would violate if they called after receiving your C+D. You also have to mail a copy, but faxing usually gets their attention.

Send it to their corporate office in columbus. I wish I had brought my contact list from my old company, they probably would have considered it intellectual theft though even though I researched and created it. I'm sure you can get their fax number through research, or by calling them and convincing them that by giving you their fax number, they are getting closer to collecting on the debt. (say you need to send in a budget or some personal info for the account **but dont send any obviously**)

They are dirtbags who I am pretty sure have been sued and had their license taken away, only to operate under someone else's. The branch in West Palm Beach was shut down this year.

By the way I would settle with these guys for 30% all the time. Send them a Cease and Desist so they stop calling, and send them an offer of 30% of the balance once a month until they accept. It is status quo for collectors to accept settlements at 30% and even less, all the time. They do not want you to know that.
