Ok, my turn to let loose.

I have been here a long time. I have seen a lot of crap come and go on this board, and I've sat by quietly and let it all pass.

Recently I haven't felt as "useful" as I have been in the past, but that's ok, because I know everything I've done in the past and what I can offer in the future.

Lately I am not happy with the board and what I'm seeing here. I am very frustrated with animosity towards guests..I think everyone, whether they work for a collection agency or a PDL deserves a voice and to be treated with respect. We have had several guests on here recently who have come on in a non-agressive and helpful manner, and they have been bashed from the get-go. This is not fair..There are always two sides to every story, and everyone..No matter who..deserves to tell theirs...As long as it's clean and non-threatening. I am also tired of people turning against each other. That's not how this board should be, and it's not how it used to be.

I took a few days off of the board because of all this. I am not trying to piss anyone off with this thread, I think anyone here who knows me can admit that I am one of the slowest-to-rile people around here, but I am riled now. I think all of us need to read the rules of the board. You, Me, all debt samaritans and mods.

Yea for Fins!! I feel exactly the same way. I have been distubed by the board too. I feel that just because someone posts as guests, they deserve the same respect and answers. I have seen some replys to posts to guests telling them to sign up and then we can help! I try to answer and help all posters, guest or not. I posted as a guest for a while because I wanted to see if this was legit or not  As long as someone is bashing someone, using bad language, everyone has a voice here.As a Mod, that is only a title, not to be abused or taken lightly. The bashing and saying I know better than you needs to stop, so we can become a board of equals, we are all in the same boat, or were. I,too, have taken some time away, and come back adn get a little discouraged the way some of this has gone. I want to welcome all, and like Fins said, please read the rules and encourage and help others..KAren

Love you too Girlie!! I was just reading some posts, and once again am discouraged by what I read. I wish we could all refrain from judging someones" grammer, education, etc. When we respond to these posts and keep them going, we are taking away time that could be spent helping someone else. I'm getting off here for a while before I post something nasty myself  ..Karen

I for one am not interested in any more drama, being that I have plenty in my life off the board

I feel the same way, Kscornell!! Like Fins said, they are always two sides to every story. I'm tired of the negative posts that are being posted against each other. I try my best to stay out of it!! Sometimes I feel like I'm back in high school with all of the drama.

drama drama drama....all around is drama....at least lately!

I enjoy posting here, but I don't enjoy the drama. I've been trying to stay out of the drama-causing posts as much as possible. I agree, it's becoming kind of a mess lately. I've tried to restrict my posts to helpful ones as much as possible, with the exception of some of the "fun" posts. I have been guilty of playing the "attack the guest" game a couple of times, when it was someone who came on and broadly insulted everyone on the board. But I've decided that's a waste of my time when I could be helping someone else with a debt issue.

I hope things get better soon. I really enjoy helping others on here, when I've received so much help here myself.

I totally agree with you. It's almost getting to be like some high school clique. I was a nerd then, I'm still a nerd, and proud of it! Anyway, like you said, I was on here as a guest long before I signed up. I got really great information and respect. Now, it just doesn't seem as friendly anymore. I understand that there have been a lot of hostile posters (guest and otherwise) and that tends to get peoples fur ruffled. But, we still need to be respectful to people until we know to treat them otherwise. That's my 2 cents. :?

Hello finsfan. I issued a response to this topic of yours, which for whatever reason, I put in the Dealing with CA section, under the title of I work for dem. I can't even begin to explain how I did that! I am a "guest" and have been truly offended by the comments as of late. I am glad to see you, bossy, brown sugar, kscornell are here. Please don't leave us guests alone here. Please.

Leave anyone out in the cold?? Never!!
Like a former coworker of mine once said "We've got people in this dept who have a PHD in Drama Queen"--and hopefully, they don't find THIS board!!
Now I was never one of the cool kids in high school and am proud of it and I think that most of my friends are the same way. We're all nerds!!!!!!!

Guest- As long as everything is kept clean, with no attacking, etc., I'm not leaving anyone!! And this goes for members too, not just guests. If someone posts something negative or attacking, don't respond, that's what they want. I,too, am tired of the drama. I guess because I'm alot older-my time is too precious to wast on someone that doesn't want help, but drama, and to help those that do :D Karen

Fins - I agree with you, and was very happy you were posting that one day that I jumped on the guy fpromoting his pdl business . . . . After you posted that we needed to give him a chance, I calmed down and waited to see what he was up to.

I agree that there is way too much drama at times. I think the reason for that is partly because tone can't always be conveyed in written words. What one person writes can be taken as something completely different in meaning. I think that if someone writes something that could be taken offensively, we should ask for clarification before jumping all over them.

I firmly believe this site is for anyone that needs help or advice. That includes guests, users, mods, anyone. We are all equal. We all came here because we had a problem and needed help, advice, or support.

Me, a drama queen? Never LOL!!! Fins, thanks for your post. I know a week or so ago I disagreed with goudah on some things. I voiced my opinion but we were able to get over it and move on. I hope I have not been harsh to any guests. I really haven't been around much this week... We do need to get back on track though :-)

You are right Mishele! If I would have come on this board now, instead of when I did- I wouldn't stay. When I came on, everyone was supportive, helpfull, and we had alot of fun-no back biting or put downs. I never had to worry about someone taking a jab at me, only supporting. Hopefully this can get back to where it needs to be, an encouraging, helpfull site that others can come to. :D Karen

From what I can ascertain the board seemed to go downhill around the holidays last year. Who was that guy who was a total butt, wasn't it Doug or something, he got banned didn't he? If I am correct can we all figure out what happened around the holidays, did something change on the board that we can correct. Was a policy changed or management, I know with enough positive energy that this board can get back to what it once was.

One thing is from what I can tell this forum is only a few years old. Well as it gets bigger (more people) and the "audience" grown bigger, more trouble makers and varments will show up.

Also does anyone think that our American economy may have something to do with the problems and negativity, people are hurting and desperate so they take it out on anyone or anybody associated with economics or money issues.

Just some ideas and thoughts... sening positive energy everyones way and to the owners of this site.

Fins I know how you feel - I have gotten so much help and support here when I felt like no one understood what I was going through or how to get out of the mess I hade created for my self. The day that I found this forum saved my sanity. When I see the bashing going on it is like trying to empty a sinking row boat with a seive (sp)! I get a sick headache and wish that I could make it stop. Now I don't mind getting on and stating my views when a ca is on trying to stir things up - but that sometimes keeps us on our toes. I am not knowlegeable in the laws, but I am learning. I do know what is working for me and try to help when I can, even if it just moral support. I am glad you are back - I have missed you this week.

Dang it, the damn thing posted before I was ready. As some of you know, I was taking online courses. Well, I have givin up. I got a C on my first paper, and things went down hill from there. I have decided not to proceed with college and start being a better mom and wife. I seriously neglected my family while trying this.

You know Tammy, my beginning grades in college weren't so hot! It takes time to get into the swing of things and I ended up graduating summa cum laude. Don't give up college, it's not reducing you as a wife and mother, if I were your spouse or child, I'd encourage you to keep going. Your fam is proud of you.

Jedi, I think you have a pretty good idea there. If you all decide to do that, would you be kind enough to let guests from here join in for the conversation? I am quite frankly tired of the direction this site it taking and I find it exhausting to read. I don't know why, but I can't tolerate the holier than thou attitude of a couple of the new moderators.
