I decided to try and fight my pdls on my own without an agency at least for awhile. It appears none are licensed in California and California doesn't allow rollovers. I have paid more than the principle on all except two of them. I told each pdl that I would only respond via email and/or USPS. Only one has responded. I believe it is because I am current on all the loans. I have put a hold on all my ACH withdrawals from my bank. I can't close my account because I am overdrawn. I have been able to take these steps because of all the great info. I received on this site...thank you. I received a voicemail on my cell phone from Sam at GFSIL asking me to call concerning my email. Should I return his call or stick to my request to only be contacted through email or USPS. Any suggestions out there? Talitha

Ok Let me help you because I hate this Company...If you call them back they are going to treat you miserably, call you a criminal, and all kinds of things so only call them back if you can stand your ground and not let them intimidate you! Also, they are going to threaten you with bank fraud etc...My advice, just go ahead and file your complaints with them to your AG, and the FTC. They will tell you that because they are located in the UK that they do not have to abide by us law...This is a lie! IF they are conducting business in the US then they are bouny by US law...They will harass you non stop for a couple of months..BE FIRM AND RESEND YOUR LETTER AS MANY TIMES AS YOU HAVE TOO BY EMAIL< MAIL AND FAX! DO NOT BACK DOWN FROM THEM AND IF YOU HAVE TRUELLY PAID THIS OFF CONTINUE DEMANDING THAT THEY MARK YOUR ACCOUNT PIF!

Email # 22 to GFS - they just called me and hung up:

Someone from your phone # just called me...can you please communicate via email?

why won't you communicate in writing? is it because you know that you are violating CT State Laws with your predatory lending practices?

Please correspond in writing.

I WANT MY ACCOUNT MARKED PIF

Hang in there though! You may never hear from them, but do make sure you watch your accounts! They might try to "sneak" a paper check through and then you are screwed. UnitedCash Loans did that and as soon as I get a copy of that check that says it was "authorized" by me for them to do it, it is going straight to the AG's office! Hang in there through!!

Yes. I have put a hold on all my ACH withdrawals through my bank. I took my paycheck off direct deposit and will open a new account at another bank on Friday when I get paid. I already know where I want to go. Hopefully, my current bank will close mine after 30 days. However, I will close that account as soon as the overdrawn is paid (which will be awhile) if the bank doesn't close it.

Will your bank reverse the ACH withdrawals? Ours (well the one we just left)did once we provided proof that we had contacted these people that we revoked our authorization to debit our account. Every week we had to go in and fill out paperwork, but maybe that is worth a shot.

My bank would not stop all ACH withdrawals. However, I do believe they will reverse them. I remember having something reversed a long time ago. At this point, my bank will not pay anthing else submitted to them. However, this is just racking up nsf fees. It's like I am being held hostage.

I don't know who you have been talking to at your bank, but maybe start talking to someone other than the clerks or customer service agents. Talk to the bank manager and if you are not satisfied, talk to the VP. Just work your way up and take your paperwork where you are trying to get this resolved and explain how you got into this loan cycle and how you are tying to stop it. If you go up through the "chain of command", you might be able to get something worked out.

Hang in there though, it will all get worked out! Just have a little faith and don't give up.

Yes we all have our times of frustration! I have vented more times than one here, but that is ok. You will get support and encouragment during those down times.

Route66 use to leave messages on my voice mail on my cell phone and when they did, I would email them back and let them know that I would only correspond with them via email or USPS. They kept telling me the could not email, but they sure were able to send me payment reminders via email and they were able to send me notices that payments were returned via email. Don't let the voice mails get to you. Just email them back and let them know that they need to correspond with you via email or USPS.

The help and support I have gotten in this website so far is great. I am just starting out. So the voicemail yesterday was just his name and the company name and aking me to call him regarding my recent email. I am sure when they don't receive payment on Friday I will start getting the lovely calls everyone on this site has gotten.

tali, when you revoke the achs did you give the bank the different names this companies go by? also must of the banks want you to say "Irevoke ach from co. name plus their alliases and make sure you put down all and any amount." Tha is what they told me at my bank, because I was writing the amount they were taking out (finance charges) and wnever they would start paying down the loan then it will be a different finance charge plus $50 towards the principal. The got me few times until someone at thebank told me how to fill out the form.

I went to the bank this morning and had them revoke all the ach's no matter what the company name and amount. They originally told me they could only do it for a specific amount or specific name. I am sure some will get through (they are so experienced at it), but I have a contact person at the bank and they will have to reverse it out. My bank account is overdrawn and I have taken my paycheck off direct deposit. So, none of them will be paid anyway. I am just trying to stop the nsf fees now. Talitha

sswett, That's a good question. Since they are an internet company call center in the UK,that does not abide by fdcpa they will call you every chance they can get. There are apx 200 employees there. Hang up on them. Talk to your employer if it becomes an issue. There are laws established in the FDCPA. You must provide written notice not to call your work.- every 30 days. This intenet PDL and all their DBA's are hidden owners- Have not been sued yet. You will not get a mailing address that will make any difference. Many States Filing against GFSIL and LEADS Global- but with no avail they are at a stand still due to they can not locate the actual owner. Your email daily is going to go unawnsered. They will not respond to you in writting. The name of this game is get your money and go. Scare tacticks. Threats to make you pay. They are faulse! They can electronically pull money ACH from your account. CHANGE BANK ACCOUNTS! close that account! Stop paying them. They will go on to the next guy-laugh at them when they call. hang up.
Just hang up. They are not going to do anything to you. Watch! All they will do is call. Now, they will call all your references and try to get them to pay.Let your references know you made a mistake and used this company. Remember this is an internet company! A whole new world here. Be prepared for that. I know, I am a reference that this company demanded. And 20+ years experience in the collection industry. Stop paying them! Guys, All of you need to stop paying them- close your accounts. Sorry the internet has gotten to this. We don't have the amo just yet to stop these types of companies. Only use internet PDL's that provide the address to the store front and a local phone number and 800#. If they don't say who/where they are on their website DON'T USE THEM!

HA HA HA HA HA - GFS called me...this is my response....its funny!

I did NOT know that Sanjaya from American Idol works for GFS!! I just listened to my voicemail and its Sanjaya, saying that he worked for GFS and he's at extension 5632 and he wants me to call him back!!! I guess we all know how Sanjaya ends up if he's working for you guys. Did he get booted and I didn't know about it? I guess I wouldn't know about it anyway, I dont watch American Idol. But..I do, read a lot of celebrity gossip columns in my spare time. So I DO know who Sanjaya is. I wonder, should I be happy that the untalented dude called me, or should I be sad that he got booted? I have mixed emotions on it really....I don't think I really care about all this Sanjaya hype stuff. Can you beleive that broad that cried when he performed? She's like 14 and has the most annoying voice ever. What has she contributed to society? why is she all over the tv, getting make overs and swag? Do you know? Sanjaya, is that you, you should know? Is she your secret lover?

Can someone give me GFSIl's contact information, email, fax.

I'm going to fight them tooth and nail. I have paid more than is allowed in my state. I have studied the laws here in my state and they are breaking several of them. I have also closed my bank account so they can't get another dime from me.

Also, does anybody know if they will put anything on my credit for not paying.

Thanks!

From what I've heard, they will report you to Teletrak, which is an agency that keeps track of bad payday loans, nothing more.

I think you're in the clear.

GFS Phone # is 442084922780 (UK) their US # is 1-877-280-2337

You'll be forced to leave them a message, and they'll call you back

I wrote GFSIL the email telling them that I revoked my ACH withdrawals. So, they called and left a voice message saying. per my email they would take the finance payment only. So I wrote and reiterated what I said before. They called and left a voice message saying per my email they would take the full payment. Then they tried to take the full payment, which my bank returned. The last email from them said that their payment had been returned.....duh. I do agree that they are speed talkers and their accents are sometimes hard to understand, but since I don't really care what they say...it is not that important for me to understand them :)
