You should try with different companies and compare the quotes. The more you research, you will find a good company to settle your debts. Start with Superior debt relief, forgetadebt. I heard them to be reputed.

I wouldn't recommend settlement. I am now using a debt management program through Consumer credit counseling Services (CCCS). The company is moneymanagement international and they work very hard to consolidate all debt and they even work with most collection companies.
Debt Settlement Company
My Credit Group They did great for us. THe fees were the lowest I could find and credit repair is built into the entire process.
Most of my stuff (actually about 30%) I guess not most was a pay for deletion upon settling.
Debt Settlement
DebtMerica aka Freedom debt relief...I am currently working with them...so far they are really good. They are bending over backwards to help me be debt free in 28 months.

One to stay away from is Mezey & Associates. They took me for about $6k. I ended up being sued, and now have a judgement against me. Stay clear of them. Their customer service has improved, but I don't think they do anything for you until you pay 100% of their fees. Not one dime goes to your creditors until Mezey gets theirs first. By that time it's too late, and your creditors are suing for their money. What a nightmare. The kicker is that Mezey claims to be a law firm so you think they're trustworthy. Do plenty of research first, find the one that you can actually get good information from - from an outside source.
I wouldn't want anyone to go through what I have been through. My next step is Chapter 13 bankruptcy.
Good luck.

Does anyone out there know of a legitimate Debt Settlment company. I would appreciate it very much if you could give me the name of one. One that has a good rating with the BBB. Thank you, Ms. Dee

You will have a hard time finding a settlement company with a good rating with the BBB due to their new rating system. If a settlement company does have a good rating its because they paid the BBB membership fees and they BBB branch chooses to ignore the corporate rating system that they are supposed to go by. You should shop around and compare quotes. I suggest going with a TASC member because their contracts require them to disclose all of the pros and cons of debt settlement. Or you can try hiring a local law firm near you that does settlement. Have you considered settling on your own? If you have the time and stomach for it you can settle the debt yourself.

I haven't used them YET but it looks like The Kirkland Green Advantage is a good Debt Relief Program for Maryland Residents. They have their TASC Rating and may even be able to recommend other TACS companies in your area.

If you are looking for a well reviewed company with an A+ rating from the BBB, look up XXXXXXXXXXX. I used them and was very pleased.

I am using them now, so far no complaints except the fees seem high and they are mostly upfront so nothing actually goes into your account till month 3 and then their are all sorts of fees through the remainder. so only a little mor than 1/2 of what I am sending a month actually goes into an account. I did not shop around really at other debt management companies as they ahve been in business for a long time and have their TASC rating and they have bent over backwards for me. I got my first settlement at 50% in month 4, but not enough in my account to cover it so we are countering at the moment.

Kirkland Green has only been in business since last year and as a statement of fact they have never had a client graduate the program. One of the owner listed is Jeremy Foti. This clown seems to be another mortgage guy looking for his next buck. He has been the target of over a dozen lawsuits regarding illegitimate telemarketing scams and it appears he is at it again. I called their and asked some questions and the agent seemed very hesitant. Also on their home page I see that they offer about 20 different financial services. When I asked the front desk she said they don't do anything other than debt settlement. Looks like another scam in the works. Stay away from Kirkland Green.

If Jeremy Foti is involved so would be Tom Londo and Jeremy's brother James Foti. All of which made millions off the backs of hardworking homeowners who were instrumental in creating the mortgage industry collapse.
A just man
Regarding Debt Settlement companies. I think that I regret taking the debt settlement route even though my credit already went down maybe low enough. Because it ruins your credit even more; however, OTHER than the serious drop in credit (That actually will depend on your credit rating, the lower the credit, the shorter the fall), I have been looking at Kirkland Green on the internet, and the internet claims that BBB gives Kirkland Green an A+ rating for debt settlement. IF you want to take debt settlement route, AND the Google search engine is providing the truth here, then Kirkland Green has an A+ rating with BBB showing on the Internet. I feel lucky in regards to this, as I could have been taken in by some other company that was not so great. You know? Take a look at United Law Group : The Google is claiming that it has an F rating.

none of this is true...its blah blah blah from an ex employee. check with nevada secretary of state, they will verify kirkland green has been in business going on 7 years. they are accredited through TASC and USOBA and have graduated 1,000's of clients. in 7 years, they only have 3 complaints and all have been satisfied. you can read that on the unfair BBB site. kirklnad green's actual website is 4klg.com. check them out there. they are as legit as they come and very competitive in pricing and fees.
Kirkland Green is a Chop Shop!
Kirkland green is an awful company who will simply take your money and not provide you with any results. Stay away from them!

I have been trying, for a year, to get my money back from this and it's sub-companies for their "debt reduction" services. All they did was collect my money. Do NOT go by what you are reading on the internet. The sub-companies are involved with litigation as well as have F ratings with the BBB.
The following companies are scams;
Debt Reduction, Inc.
Debt Reduction, Corp.
US Debt Plan (usdebtplan.com)
inlinedebt.com
American Financial Services
World Class Debt Services
Kirkland & Green
ALL ARE CONNECTED TO ONE ANOTHER BY THE SAME PERSON.

Dear Unregistered, its people like you that have put this country in the position it is in today. Trying to skip out on your creditors and blaming someone else is typical of today's society. You wont even use your name, proof in the pudding. I worked for a debt settlement company and saw complaints, blogs and accusations of this nature all day long. Hard working people trying to do good for for those in need and all we got was flack. It is what it is, take your lumps, you got yourself in debt, get yourself out!

I would call 866-833-6398. They settle right away with your creditors. You only pay them a small fee and you pay the creditors directly once you receive a settlement letter, so you see where your money is going. In most cases the settlement is around 20-25 cents on the dollar.

The facts don't lie Tom Londo, Jeremy Foti and James Foti! You do! Your days of scamming people out of their hard earned money are coming to a close and I hope people start to look for you to try and recover the money you have stolen from them over the years.
Kirkland Green Scam Artists

First mortgages and not debt consolidation, when will these scam artists be put to rest once and for all?
Masters of the housing market collapse: Jeremy Foti, Tom Londo and James Foti. Now that the housing market has dried they've moved on to a less lucrative but equally misleading business: Debt consolidation. Don't give these people a penny, they'll play you for a fool.
