It depends on your state laws if they could garnish your wages or not. But be aware some pdl's put wage assignment clauses into the contracts. This is a voluntary assignment of your wages when you default on the loan. Since it is voluntary it can be revoked at any time. Some states don't allow wage assignments, so check into your state's laws on that too.

You can work out payment arrangements with the company on the outstanding balance.
