can the garnissh my wages

It depends on your state laws if they could garnish your wages or not. But be aware some pdl's put wage assignment clauses into the contracts. This is a voluntary assignment of your wages when you default on the loan. Since it is voluntary it can be revoked at any time. Some states don't allow wage assignments, so check into your state's laws on that too.

If you post more information about your situation we can probably give you smoe more specific advice.

Legitimate lenders try to recover the money through court orders. Before they do this, they go through the file status and how long the account has been in default. If it's for a high balance and the court costs can be covered, they will move ahead. Most of the storefront lenders usually are legal and reputed. You need to be careful of them. Most online lenders run an illegal business, but you need to do your research on the company and look into the file status. You can work out payment arrangements with the company on the outstanding balance.
