I have taken out 7 payday loans and they are consumming my money very fast I am getting behind on my normal bills does any one know of a company that will help consolodate these loans Maine has no laws reguarding payday loans and I don't know where to turn

Maine does have laws regarding pdl's . . .

You will find the Payday loan laws for Maine here (just select your state),

http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/explain-pdls-laws.html

Only supervised lenders can do payday loans in your state. I'd be willing to bet that none of the companies you borrowed from are supervised lenders.

Can you post what companies you borrowed from, how much, and how much you've paid so far in fees?

ejr ~ Can you please list what companies you have these loans with, how much you borrowed and how much you have paid back?

Reason I am asking is to see if you have actually paid back the principal of the loan. You also need to send these companies a letter (via email or USPS with return receipt) stating that you are revoking your authorization to debit your account, wage garnishment, to contact your references, your employer, or even your place of employment. Also contact your bank. Let them know what is going on, that you have revoked your authorization for these companies to debit your account and take a copy of the letter you sent these companies with you. You may have to fill out some paperwork, but that isn't anything. If you can, close out your account, which will stop the ACH debits. If you cannot close your account at this time, keep an eye on it to make sure that these transactions are stopped. If they continue to debit your account, go right to the bank and see if they will reverse the transaction.

I hate it when I do that, reply before I am finished!

Anyway, you may have to fill out some more paperwork to get the transaction reversed, but again, that isn't anything.

It may take several times of you sending these people the letters, but don't give up. Also once all this starts, be prepared for some nasty and threatening phone calls and emails. Understand that they cannot arrest you for this, you did not commit check fraud, and they are not going to "download" your file. Take some time and read through some of the posts on this forum to see all the little ways these people will threaten you and try to scare you into paying more on your loan than you need to. Now if you have a job, you might want to talk to your payroll department and give them a heads up as to what these people may try to do as far as wage garnishment. You may need to show them the letter where you revoked your authorization to do that. It might be a little embarrassing, but a little embarrassing is worth getting your whole check back.

You have come to a wonderful place here. You will find a lot of help and advice, as well as a lot of support and encouragement. Many, many of us have been there, done that and some are still fighting. You hang in there and I promise it will all work out.

Well, don't feel too bad...My account was overdrafter 1600 bucks because my bank would not help me put stops on any of these ACH or allow me to take my husband off of the account which is why I had to get the PDL's in the first place to cover the money he stole from me...Banks suck! I wish we didn't need them!
