Hi
20- 21 K credit card debt -- I'm up to date and never pay late. I thought if I could try to negotiate directly I would not have a middle man ( debt counseling or debt settlement ) skimming. I understand chances may be slim to go it on my own but looks like crappy options. A consolidation without a new loan built in may work - BUT need GOOD Company - hard to find.
Debt Settlement Company
I was wondering if anyone in the community had any knowledge about a company called Clear Debt Results. The people I have talked to so far seem really great and very willing to help. Also they don't expect you to pay them every month, but set up your own savings account or method of saving for settlement. The only thing I am unsure of since I have never been in this situation before is signing a limited power of attorney. Giving them power of attorney to deal with banks, financial institutions, credit agencies, credit bureaus, creditors, collection agencies, courts, the IRS, student loan association, attorneys, professionals, and any related organizations and individuals pertaining to my financial matters. I really just want to make sure I am not setting myself up for something bad.

CDR
We are also going through cdr. I was very scared to hand over all my debt and all my info to someone. I have a friend that has been in our shoes and she is very happy with her results. Signing the poa is really the only way cdr can negoitate with creditors. Hope this helps you.
