I have a site meter on my blog, and can see where the visitors to my site reside, and their internet address and how they came to my site. I keep getting a visitor who comes to my site, through this site, from good ol' Jacksonville, Florida. I would bet all of my debt pennies that it is Bass and Associates checking in to see the latest threads about them and what is on my site about them.

I finally, after having read about them here got a call from them myself. The guy tried to start his arrest and fraud speech, but I cut him off at the knees. I told him I and my attorney, who is helping me get out of debt, had researched Bass and Associates VERY well, were aware of the tactics they employed, all the complaints against them, that I would file one myself if they called back, and gave him the history for that Jacobs @$$h0le. I conculded my tirade by saying you may never call me at home, cell or work, I would never deal with them directly, and gave him my attorney's phone number and said she represents me and speakes for me. He said thank you and hung up. Needless to say, neither me or my attorney have been called since.

Be strong, get representation if you can, but the bullies shrink back when you turn the tables onthem. Remember that.

I agree with you Steelers, Fins, Anthony and Kyside and nothing surprises me at all about the colectors or the pdls. I think that there are a lot more of their spies on here than we think and I think that they are the reason for some - if not all of the slamming and bashing going on here. If you read som of the posts much of the verbage is the same and when I see that I go to a different thread.

Lies, lies, and more lies. When will you all stop spreading lies about such a reputable company, such as Bass and Associates? Don't you think that treating a company held in high regards by the Better Business Bureau like this is not very adult-like? Pay your bills and grow up.

You're right Mr Lemons. LOL I visit a collectors forum every now and again to see what the other side is doing. Many are worried about the "increasing number of law suits" by alleged debtors, and nowadays the average debtor (thanks to forums such as this) are more informed about the law than the collector is.

Oh my freakin' god. Bass in high esteem with the BBB? They must really think we ARE stupid!!! Now has everyone who has had the misfortune to deal with these douchebags been emailing the Florida Times-Union? It needs to happen!! The more publicity they get, the greater chance they will have their doors closed. And if they aren't paying their bills, are their paychecks bouncing? If they are, then their collectors need to get the Florida Labor Board involved.

Also, send them a debt validation letter to their Florida address. Put in their not to contact you by phone, at work and home, regarding this matter. They must validate the debt before any more attempts are made to collect on this matter. I doubt they will validate it though. They didn't in my case.

You're quite right Leah. Generally it is because there is nothing they can send. Mostly, when they purchase a group of debts, it's only names and amounts allegedly owed. Especially recently, with so many very old debts being bought. How could they provide much on a debt from say, 1995 on which the SOL has long run.
