Hey everyone, boards are slow tonight. I'm just curious. Does anyone have any tattoos? I personally have 5 8) I know some people are against them and I respect everyone's beliefs but I think they are cool.

I have
1. a red rose on my chest-got in 1994 after a really bad breakup
2. a Zia symbol (state symbol for the state of New Mexico) on my right thigh-got it for my 30th birthday
3. a really pretty tribal design with lots of pretty flowers on my lower back (my stepdaughter calls it a tramp stamp  got that one for my 32nd birthday
4. a unicorn jumping out from pages of a book on the back of my right shoulder-ouch!!!
5. a random vine thingy with purple flowers around my left ankle-just got that one a few months ago just because I wanted it :)

That sounds really cool!! I am sorry about your mom:( Sweet tribute to her with the yellow roses. I want to get another one soon....I would really like to have one on my foot because I think foot tattoos look so cool but considering how the last couple hurt, I don't know if I could take the pain!!

I have two.One of a hybrid unicorn/pegasus on my left arm with hand drawn background. Got about 19 1/2 years ago. I also have my wifes name above this tatoo.Something she wanted and I did like a good husband and said ok. I normally wouldn't put any name on me except kids because I have seen buddies have to cover that up.I figure after almost twelve years,we are stuck together.

Sounds cool cajun!!! Sweet of you to put your wife's name on there. I don't think my husband would do that, and I don't think I would put his name on me in permanent ink either. He doesn't love me that much......and Tweety, some places you get them it is not bad and other places like my ankle hurt like all hell!!!

You know what, guys, I am TERRIFIED of needles!!! I hate even getting blood drawn. I have only stopped being a nervous wreck when I have to get blood work done within the last few years. I used to never keep up on my dr's appts or anything because I was so scared of needles. When I get blood drawn, I have to ask for a butterfly needle because I am scared of the big one and I have to close my eyes and look away, too. Go figure!! OMG I wish I had a tattoo artist in the family! I wouldn't want to be all covered though, I think that is kind of tacky. I actually shouldn't have gotten the one on my ankle because now I am paying for it....I have to wear slacks to work even when it is hot. I normally would wear skirts and dresses and capris but I am getting a new boss June 1st and I am afraid he would frown upon the ankle tattoo but it serves me right!!

I have three that I don't show anyone. Call it being a stupid teenager trying to piss off my parents. It worked...but I hate the tattoos and want them off. So even though it worked, it ended up backfiring on me - I think I could have come up with a better way to piss them off (and did, actually, several times)!

My S/O and his brother both got tattoos back in the 70's, and both now have Hep C. Things were not regulated back then as they are now, so health dept. was not checking on things back then. Because of the Hep C, my S/O had to have a liver transplant 3 months ago. So please make sure you know the tattoo place is followed by the health dept on a regular bases! Needless to say, no more tattoos around this house!

Really Leah? I had no idea...and OUCH!!!! Did it hurt terribly? My neck hurts just thinking about it!! Sue...sorry to hear you regret your tatts....my zia symbol didn't really come out the way I would have liked it to and I regretted it for a long time but I am ok with it now...and my unicorn isn't really colored the way I wish it was so I kind of regret those two a little....my parents hate the fact that my sister and I have tattoos. They only know about my rose. When my mom found out about it, she said tattoos are only for sluts or prostitutes, of which I am neither  but my parents are really old fashioned.

Countygirl, what a scary story. I am so sorry about the hep c. I hope your s/o is doing well after his transplant. Whenever I get my tats I make sure they are using clean needles, dept of health inspections, etc. I am really really sorry to hear this. This is the downside of getting tattoos, I am afraid.

Nope, no tattoos here. Won't ever be one, no way, no how. Do not like needles, do not like pain, also do not want to be a grandma with saggy tattoos!!! My husband keeps talking about wanting to get one, but we will see when we get all the finances straightened out. He is a weenie when it comes to pain too, so I can't see him going through with it, but who knows. But there will never be any for me, unless it is the temporary kind like you find in the gumball machines! LOL :P

I agree, Steelers!! Sounds like the kind of stuff my husband's daughter would want to get. Rob Zombie? YUK if you ask me!!

skippi-bummer what your husband said. My husband has 3 tattoos actually. The first one he already had when he met me and the second too he just got recently. He got a Pontiac GTO symbol on one of his uppper arms and on the other upper arm he has this cool flame looking thing. He can keep them easily covered for work which is good. He had no problem with me getting any, in fact he got one of mine for me for my birthday last year.

and to top it off...she made her own gun and buys her own ink and asks people to do them for her....Its just gross! If you are gonna get a tatoo, I am cool with that but don't get so many that when you are 80 years old people are gonna be like, Whats a Rob Zombie?(not to mention, he is a totally creepy lil dude!)

I have 4 tatoos . . .

On my side of my lower back a Felix the Cat

Above that and slightly over a spitfire symbol

On the other side of my lower back a blue lightning bolt

All the way down my spine fron the top of my neck to the end of my spine a blue and black design I made - It's kinda hard to explain. But I got it all in one sitting - Took me 6 hours!
