I am looking for some avenues to fix up my debt issues
Date: Wed, 05/23/2007 - 18:00
Long story short, these are the debts and (to my knowledge) about how much I owe.
wfnnb - 2 credit cards - $850 and $650 (maybe less maybe more... I don't know what hidden fees the creditors have tacked in there since I last contacted them)
Paypal - 1 debt on a returned payment - Technically I could dispute this one but I am not because I have no proof of wrongdoing on the other end - approx. $200
Check N Go - 1 pdl for $345.00 past due (so with charges it may be a heck of a lot more)
School debt - another I may have to look into. For two years they took my state payments for my tax returns and are still saying I owe over $500 (considering I only owed $750 when it started and have paid over $550 to them, I don't see this as correct.)
Capital One - 1 card past due approx. $550
So all in all I have about $2000 owed to people if not more, and I want to work it all out to get it paid off and get them their money, but I can't afford to make those payments in one large sum. I really need help, because I can't keep dealing with this and I really want to make it right. Basically I got kicked out of my house and had to choose between paying rent for a place to live and paying the cards. I am now in a situation where I can begin to pay back and make up what I owe, but it would have to be about $20 to each creditor each month. I would think me offering to give them their money that way instead of not being able to give it to them at all would make them agree to it, but I guess they aren't willing to work with me anymore. I feel like I don't have a choice and I'm afraid of them taking me to court or arresting me. I'm not a thief, and I want to make right on all of my debts, but I can't afford to in a way that will satisfy the creditors who have ahold of these accounts now. Please help with any suggestions... thank you all.

Welcome! If you signed up for it, a debt counselor will be calling you soon to discuss your options. You may benefit from doing a debt consolidation where you make one low monthly payment to a company and they disburse it to all of your creditors...

Is check n go a storefront or internet loan? Because if it is storefront they are licensed in your state and they can and will take you to court.
Then I would probably take care of the student loan second.
Capitol one sucks big time they don't like small payments.
But I would pick one of these debts to take care of first then go to a second one. Because the credit cards are still charging interest. And if you make a small payment you probably will not even pay enough to take care of just the interest. I would do one at a time. then they will go down faster. As for the collection agencies, I would send them a letter stating that they are not to call you at work or home. If they need to contact you, do it by mail.
